There exists a type of humor that is produced almost solely from something being utterly bizarre and idiotic. This is an example.
The concept of the show is really stupid, but it is somehow really funny to me at the same time. I’ll be at work and remember some random scene, and suddenly I can barely prevent myself from laughing out loud from just thinking about it.
The show is a bizarre that transcends bizzare:
Tom wants to start a excersize camp because his 3 stepsons had heart attacks. The Mayor suggests Pipe Buffet (which is in a tiny room above the mayor’s office) sponsor the camp and call it ‘pipe camp’. The mayor promises that no pipes will be smoked at this camp.
Tom is frustrated to see the mayor sabotaging his efforts to get kids in shape. The camp’s menu consists of fatty meats and it turns out the camp counselors are secretly teaching the kids how to smoke pipes. I think by far the most depraved part of the episode was when Tom is beating off in bed while thinking of his wife, and this squirrel just suddenly shows up and stares at him.
I’m waiting for the Mayor to get his comuppance. He’s always scamming Tom around and getting away with it. I hate it when the morons win in shows :mad:
I agree. I like the show but it is also frustrating. Although delaying the gratification does make it better. If it comes.

I remember after the first season of ATHF people were wondering when and if Shake was going to get his comeuppance for everything he did to Meatwad. And boy did he, heh-heh-heh
I really liked Tom’s idea for a WWII themed restaurant. Though I don’t understand why the Mayor was keeping him in a dumpster and feeding him cat food after he got knocked out by the bratty nephew…
And by the way, Shake has constantly gotten his comeuppance, including,
Getting mutiliated from plastic surgery (meatwad turning the tables on Shake!)
Getting his skin ripped off by an interdimensional demon
Getting stuck in the oujia Atari game
Sawing his tongue off with a chain saw :eek:
Getting mutated down to a blob (but he did get Drizzle powers!)
Eating the broodwich
“Tom Goes to the Mayor” never strikes me as funny. It doesn’t annoy me enough to be something I hate. When it comes on, it is just the moment of choice to go to the bathroom, goo get another beer, fix a sandwich, etc. There is no worry that I’m going to miss something good.
