Tommy and Bonnie (a story of a boy and his dog)

Kinda TMI: My cat decided to go outside her litterbox this morning. She left me a nice little present on the mat right in front of her box. She’s never done that before. Is she trying to tell me that it needs cleaning? Or is she complaining about it having the cover on which is still a new thing (only been that way for the last week and a half)? I can’t figure out cats.

I got a bunch of tomatoes from someone who’s garden is overflowing - free produce is good. I want to make Alton Brown’s tomato sauce recipe (to which I was going to post a link, but the Food Network’s search engine isn’t working), but it calls for white wine and I know *nothing *about wine. I need advice on what kind of wine to use in tomato sauce. Would I want something dry? Or sweet? A chardonnay (sp?)? Something else? HELP!

I require one six-pack per two hundred pounds of stuff to move. And maybe some pizza.

taxi I seem to recall AB’s tomato sauce recipe calling for sherry vinegar. Maybe I am misremembering and should go look it up. Or not. It’s not like I’m the one with all the tomatoes.

Rue satan uses all kinds of rancid, putrid, foul stuff as deodorant. Miracle Whip just happens to be his favorite.

I’m considering making a seven layer salad with bleu cheese crumbles tomorrow. See, there’s gonna be some folks over for a sorta birthday party. It’s just a sorta birthday party cause the guy’s real bday ain’t til Labor Day. So it’s kinda a pre-birthday party. He’ll be 30. The whippersnapper! He does a great haircut though. We’re gonna have <snerk> smoked butt! <snerk> I foresee many butt jokes in my near future. Stuff like, <snerk> Butt! It’s what’s for dinner! <snerk> and <snerk> Wanna slice of my butt? <snerk> Juvenility reigns supreme at my pool parties.

I’m so tired, and don’t want to go to class today. Thank goodness that I made sure that my 1st MWF class doesn’t begin until 11 AM.

I’m wearing a camo shirt that I picked up at Wal-Mart last night. The problem is that it fits me. See, I got a Large, expecting that it would be too tight on me, and look funny, but… it fits me like a normal T-shirt should. Since I recently had to buy a pair of size 40 pants, I’m going to assume that Winchester and Levis make their clothes bigger than normal, and that I’m really still an XL and a 42.

Where’s donkey? I thought I heard him but I don’t see him. It’s like he’s camoed or sump’n. Hmmm…

I get to go to Tifton, GA this afternoon. I am so excited. The up side is that when I’m through there I ain’t comin’ back to the office, so that means I’ll be home a whole thirty minutes early today. Wow! Y’all have a good afternoon and behave. Well, try to behave anyway.

Swampy, you want me to behave ?! I dunno, that’s a pretty tall order. But…just for you, I’ll do my best.

The weather is supposed to be nice today high 70s to low 80s. Yesterday it was 87 degrees. That’s a little uncomfortable for me.

I’m sitting trying to think of something exciting to add, but I don’t have anything. I have a lot of work to finish before I leave today, but that’s not exciting, just very mundane and boring.

I did say PITA on the countertop measurements, didn’t I? Apparently, that was the case. My kitchen cabinets are all custom. Apparently, so custom that the countertop wherein the cooktop will reside will have a 2" overhang. Apparently the cabinets are so custom that my wonderful new sink which can be either under or over mounted will have to be over mounted because of the drawers on either side being in the way for an under mount. I am NOT happy!!!

We are supposed to go pick out stone tomorrow morning. It’d better be really, really GOOD!

Oh, yeah, and there will be no behaving this afternoon. I intend some very serious pouting. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

This will be a weekend of household stuff - hanging lights in the basement, installing and/or moving ceiling fans, and doing laundry.

Oh, yeah, we’re wild ones, we are!

Let me guess, you bought another chandelier for the laundry room, right?

Right now, I’m cookin’ <snerk> BUTTS! <snerk> Tomorrow is <snerk> EAT BUTT DAY! <snerk> The jokes and <snerks> they just keep a’ comin’! ACBG called a bit ago and said: “You <snerk> SMOKIN’ BUTTS <snerk> yet?” I replied: “Yep, my BUTTS ARE SMOKIN!” Somehow, I don’t think we can get any more juvenile. Course, there’s always tomorrow when I tell folks, <snerk> TIME TO EAT SOME BUTT! <snerk>

<snerk> BUTT! IT’S WHAT’S FOR DINNER! <snerk>

I didn’t say chandelier, I said lights! As in workshop lights - 7 of 'em. Sheesh - it’s killing you that Cartooniverse has taken the Chandelier of Doom[sup]TM[/sup], isn’t it? I’m sure he’d be glad to send it to you, if you asked real nice…

:stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, he even offered to meet me at any given Waffle House [sup]TM[/sup] on I-75 but we couldn’t agree on which one of the approximately forth-eleven bajillion Waffle Houses [sup]TM[/sup] at any given exit off I-75 in Jawja to meet at. :stuck_out_tongue:

My <snerk> SMOKIN’ BUTTS <snerk> are really smellin’ good right now!

Mmmmmm, what’s that I smell? Nope, not Smokin Butts <snerk>. It’s a nicely toasted sandwich bun. Almost related. <snerk>

Actually, when we made hamburgers the other day, I went to get buns <tee hee> and instead of getting brand name ones, I got the ones from the Giant Eagle (grocery store) bakery. De-lish. There were 2 left over and I’ve been wondering what to do with them. I’m lazy today, so I had strawberries and Greek yogurt for dinner. (Lunch was at Buca di Beppo, so dinner needed to be pretty light.) And a bun <tee hee - said it again>, grilled with a bit of butter and then with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top. I may need to eat the second one.

I’m planning a pretty exciting weekend myself, FCM. Gardening. Laundry. Gardening. Acting like a vegetable. Don’t know if I can handle the stress…

Happy weekend, everyone!!!

What, no sausage?

We’re halfway to a digital camera.

Well, we want to buy one, but they sure are expensive, aren’t they? So we went out and bought the memory card & the charger for the batteries today, and after next payday we’ll buy the actual camera.

I’m so proud of us…we’re actually responsible!

Happy weekend everyone! I’m going to be a bad girl this weekend…the SO’s going to his folks’ home. Wish we had a devil smiley…

Yes, it’s still dark out and I’m up and about. I’ve been up over an hour. Stoopit circadian rhythms… It rained overnight, and it’s nice and cool again. Tomorrow is supposed to be a return to hot and humid, tho, so we shall see how long the windows stay open.

Last night, I signed up my sweetie and me for the ceramics class. I almost blew it - there were only 4 slots left. Now there are only 2. We’re good to go. So yay! Oct 8. Can’t wait!

Happy Saturday, all!

There will be plenty of <snerk> sausage <snerk> today. No that’s not dirty you bunch of pervs! I’m grillin’ brats in a little while for lunch. So, there’ll be <snerk> sausages <snerk> for lunch and <snerk> BUTT! <snerk> for supper!

You should serve both <snerk> sausage <snerk> and <snerk> butt <snerk> together. Sit back and wait for the compliments on how well the <snerk> sausage <snerk> and <snerk> butt <snerk> go together.

We have enlightenated ManLand! That’s what my sweetie is calling his basement workshop now. Today we pulled some wire, put up 17 junction boxes, and installed some lights. There are 3 new fixtures in my laundry room that are currently sporting 200W bulbs - decidedly BRIGHT in there! We also put up four shop lights in the section of between the stairs and the laundry room - an area that had no lights at all till today. WOW, what a difference.

Tomorrow, we’ll move 6 shop lights and hang 4 more, and that will enlightenify the rest of the basement better than it was before. Plus we’ve got it set up on separate switches so when I’m doing laundry, we don’t have to turn on all 14 fixtures, but when we’re doing something down there, we’ll have lots of illumination. Very cool! Tomorrow, I’m also going to hook up the pink telephone so I don’t have to run upstairs if someone calls. So that’s good.

We bought a device that will turn our ceiling fan into one that uses a remote. Better still, it’ll give us separate cotrols for the fan and the light. No more messing with the pull chains. Yay! And we got a fan for the red bedroom, so the fan in the master moves to the yellow room, the fan we bought for the master last year will be installed with the remote thingy, and the newest fan will go in the red room. Maybe not all this weekend, but soon.

It’s a good thing we didn’t plan to sail today - it’s been rainy all day. Yay for rain! And we just finished dinner - yay for sketties and salad!

I’ve had a very good day! YAY!

So, has anyone worked out the <snerk>/post ratio for this week? Me neither. But I’m guessing it’s higher than average.

It rained today!!! Poured even. Although I wasn’t home at the time and my rain gauge was on it’s side while it rained. Guessing by the level of water in the trash can (which didn’t have a lid on it at the time), it looks like we didn’t get as much rain as 1/2 north of here where I got to witness (and run through) the downpour. But it rained. Which it’s hardly done all summer. Yay!!!

Just came in from almost 3 hours of making babies. Baby plants, that is. (Whad’ya think? :D) They’re for a plant giveaway that’s about a month away. I’ve got coleus (really easy to root) and plectranthus (not sure how it will do as a houseplant, but it’s really cool looking, kind of oval, textured, slightly fuzzy leaves that are purple on the bottom and it doesn’t need much light), and a couple kinds of begonia (dragonwing and some other variety that has pretty frosted-looking leaves). We’ll see how they all do. I’m hoping I can winter over some of my plants because they’re really cool and I’d like to have more than I can afford to buy.

I guess I need to go clean up. My garage is kind of a disaster area and today seems like as good a day as any to clean.

On preview I see you’ve been far more productive than I have, FCM. I need to add lights in my basement, but they’re going to be for plants. That’s another scary place that could really use a thorough cleaning. I’m hoping for some re-wiring sometime soon, too.

Oh…and do you know what wonderful pottery creations you’ll be working on yet? It was fun to see what you made during the last class.

Now I’m going to clean up. Really. I promise. Unless I get distracted.
