I’ll be a lesbian MOMMY!
My SO is giving birth to our son four weeks early, right now. And I am 700 miles away.
I wish I could be there.

Congrats, Pixie! How wonderful! What a great Chrostmas present for both of you.
Boy or girl or do you know yet? Keep us posted.
er, that might mean ‘Christmas’, but with me its hard to tell…
Congratulations! That’s great!
By the way, have you considered “Elvis” for a name?
It is most definitely a boy and we are naming him Gabriel. I am so happy - when I finally get to hold him, I will bawl my eyes out.
Congratulations, Peculiar Pixie and SO!
Congratulations, Pixie!
Just to let you know, if you ever try to get away with the “One present combined for birthday and Christmas” scam, you’ll be rewarded with a visit from the Enforcers. Everyone born within 5 days of Christmas gets automatic access to their emergency line. (Unless the gift is something major, like a stereo system or a car.)
When my SO and I were chatting as she got her IVs and her blood pressure taken, etc., we were talking about the whole “Christmas baby” thing.
We weren’t anticipating our bundle until after New Year’s Day, so we hadn’t thought about it much.
We thought we’d either buy gifts for him in July and set them aside, or throw him “birthday and a half” parties every June 23rd.
No kid should be expected to go without a birthday celebration, just because they were born around Christmastime.
Wow, PP (mind if I call you PP?) that kicks ass! Congratulations to you and Mrs. PP… what a wonderful holiday gift.
I wish you and your family much love and happiness.
That’s wonderful!
Congratuations!
Much love and happiness always,
Rose
Oh god, what is happening to me?
I haven’t even seen him and I am in love with him already.
Wow! Congratulations!
I mean it’s too bad you’re so far away and all, but a birth is a birth and an amazing thing. Life man… wow
You know… when I first saw the thread title, I got scared. I thought maybe FOTF got to you. But, nope, it is a joyous occasion. I’m very happy for you. That’s great. Congratulations to you and the Mrs. May you have many vomit and poop joy filled days ahead.
My traditional baby gift is a needlepoint sampler with the Three Rules that were consistently enforced while my four kids were growing up. I started out with more, but it turned out to be harder than I thought to raise model citizens.
If you didn’t go to school, you can’t go out and play.
Don’t be a litterbug.
Never cross a picket line.
All four are doing fine. Their driving and police records have been expunged, and they seem happy.
Congratulations to both of you, and pictures are expected.
Aww. I don’t know what to say…except congrats, Pixie!! And say happy birthday to your new offspring for me…
Pixie, congratulations! That’s wonderful!!
You know, one of the names I considred picking for this board was “Saint Gabriel”, in part because I love that name. (“Gabriel”, not “Saint”.)
Kat, it sounds like I should be wishing you a happy bithday, too? By the way, have you called them lately? I keep getting the “This number has been disconnected” message…
Congrats, Pixie.
Tell him all the hoopla is in honor of his birthday. Consider naming him Jesus to reinforce this.
Congrats! Having a baby is so wonderful, you should know of course, the process isn’t the greatest but it’s worth it isn’t it? Tell the kid I said happy birthday, and that we love him oodles.
Kitty
Congrats to Pixie & SO.
I love the name gabriel…
What are you doing 700 miles away??? Who’s gonna hand out the cigars?
