okay, my mom and i are having a disagreement with my dad. he says the digital women at the end of the episode was scully, whereas my mom and i are convinced it was phoebe.
so, what i want to know is, who the hell was it?
“If anybody wants a sheep, that is proof that he exists.”
hmm… i’ve got it on tape and have watched it over and over (we’ve got a bet going)… the facial features are too pointy to be scully’s, and what about the hair? it’s pretty damn brown, if you ask me.

I dunno. It seems to me that it would make more sense if it was Phoebe, simply because the character was her hero, or her ‘Goddess’ if you will.
Although, I won’t dispute that it looks an awful lot like Scully…
It appeared to be Scully’s head on the cyber-vixen’s body. I’ll let others on alt.fan.x-files theorize endlessly on What The True Underlying Meaning Of It All actually was… but it was a pretty good episode. The characterization of the testosterone-sodden gamer macho-badboy-wannabe geeks was pretty spot-on… I could swear my brother was among the gamers at the beginning…
I could see both my hubby and my brother up there. Unfortunately, I probably would have been the third to round out the team. Wooops.
The features, particularly mouth and eyes kinda had a Scully thing going. The hair and the rest of the face seemed to be Phoebe’s. The bod, of course, ILM. Heh.
You know, in a twisted way, it would make ‘sense’ for it to have been a blend of the women – the creator and the destroyer. Come on, Scully was kicking ass and taking names. So she was running out of ammo. In a fair fight, it woulda been game over for the bad guy, you bet your ASCII.
I can’t believe I’m watching X-Files now. That’s two weeks in a row. I’m doomed.
I just haven’t been the same since that house fell on my sister.
I was the same way, Suzeanne. I thought, “Oh, the X-files. It’s just a show. I can quit any time I want to!”
Then it was, “At least I don’t confuse it with a documentary! I’m not like the rest of these loons!”
Now I watch it (almost) religiously…
It’ll suck you in. Don’t resist – that just makes it harder on you.
You might find X-Files for Normal People helpful – thumbnail descriptions of the shows, organized by season, and cliff notes of the Conspiracy. Check it out.
The features were “pointy”, but it was a digital image, so they can’t get everything perfect. The hair may have not been the exact color of Scully’s, but the style was.
It also makes sense that it was Scully, since she was actually in the game, playing it, in her fabulous warrior gear. I just immediately knew it was Scully.
Allow me to jump in if I may. I think the woman at the end was probably an amalgamation of both Scully and the female programmer, with obvious ahem modifications. However,
[begin Comic Book Guy mode] ‘Worst episode ever!’[end Comic Book Guy mode]. Did anyone understand how no one could find the program when it disappeared and yet Scully managed to enter anyway to kick some digital ass? Not to mention I really didn’t care what happened the whole episode. BAH! Haven’t there been enough shows about virtual reality affecting reality reality (i.e. ‘VR5’
and ‘Harsh Realm’)? It seemed to be totally out of the realm of normal x-files stories.
