No, darn it. My homemade Kimche source retired a couple of years ago, and I don’t have enough grandma style Korean friends to score real live homemade Kimche. (Although, Yom, my last source wouldn’t make it until just about the end of June, and it wouldn’t be ready in time for the fest.)
But, the stuff I get is actually Korean, with an indecipherable label.
Sounds like a blast, but I won’t be anywhere near when Gettysdope goes down. Are there any other Dope events that go on? I’ll be traveling quite a bit but I’m usually in Chicago.
I’ve got two buddies from California who will be visiting that weekend and want to tour Gettysburg, so this works out. We will stop on by, eat food, annoy people, and have fun. Don’t know what I will bring yet. Is beer allowed? Will there be a book exchange again?
Yay! I was afraid you were checking in to wuss out. (Are the Calif. friends more Gauchos, BTW?)
Alcohol is prohibited at the park; I believe, however, one or two people have had beverages with tinfoil wrapped around them that no one felt compelled to inspect.
Well, I may or may not be able to come. My mom probably wouldn’t have a problem with me driving to PA, especially since school is over and I’ve had my license for substantially more than a year. However, I may not really want to drive to Gettysbrug by myself, so I may take you up on your offer, Tris. Unfortunately, I applied for a job at U-Haul working nights and weekends, and I don’t know whether I got it, since they haven’t called me back; I kind of doubt it, though.
In other words, put me down as a definite “maybe.”
My mom may be coming; she just doesn’t like not knowing many people there. She would also like to know if anyone remembers her; if you do, email her at phantom diver at gmail etc. (presumably you can translate this into an actual email address).
On the subject of games, as Scuba introduced last page, I’ll be happy to bring my enormous Fluxx deck (and my Chrononauts deck, for a combined game) if anybody expresses interest (since I’d really rather not if nobody wants to play). Antares has taken my usual slacker-task of bringing non-edible meal accoutrements, so I guess I’ll figure that out later.
I got a job once by asking about the status of my application.
Just saying.
(Do not even think yer gettin’ a lick of sympathy from me about driving to Gettysburg. Bailie was seven hours each way:))
That is a decidedly difficult e-mail address to assemble. I think we need one of the longtime computer scientists to figure it out. Anyone up to the challenge?
Folks, I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to make it, after all. Instead, I’ll send my regrets and my good wishes. It was a pleasure seeing you guys last year, and please do keep me in mind for Gettysdope IV.
It’s about time for a recap posting, so if you plan to attend, list what you’re going to be bringing, (if you’ve failed to previously do so), along with the number of folks in your posse. The directions have been revised (different pavilion) and will be posted shortly.
