Thank you, Sunny_Daze! Yep. Nonacetone.
So they had me bouncing around again. But it’s a living.
Darryl fo The walking Dead and some other due were chasing me around the complex, shooting at me. Wonder if it was about my car again? ![]()
Worked my extra shift today, and since it was opening instead of closing, I’m already out & chilling, with time to spare to see the sunset and have a leisurely dinner.
Saw some turkeys this morning on my way in, and Mr. Tom was showing off with all his might. The smaller birds are a twitterin’ up in the trees with a noisy vengeance, so spring (and mating season!) are definitely upon us here in western Mitten.
Howdy Y’all! We ended up not bein’ hermits and sloths all day. Go Us! I decided my hair was too unruly and needed to be shorn, so I went to my trusty Great Clips app and lo and behold, I could schedule myself an appointment in half an hour. OYKW checked his trusty Great Clips app, and lo and behold, the same thing! Thus we went and got shorn. Both of us were in and out in twenty minutes even. Then, we went to LJS and actually et there. Of course all that activity just exhausted us, so nappage was needed when we got back to da cave. We grazed for sup.
VanGo I see the piece of cake by your name. Happy Doperversary!
gotti I’m sure PWAISDN gave his usual FAAAAAAAB-U-LOUS service to his clients. Yay on gettin’ to go back to irk I guess. Bein’ a retired drain on society myself, I no longer know that feelin’. Hope the insurance stuff works out.
quietly glad the kitty is doin’ well.
Yay for everybody gettin themselves shot! We’re gettin’ closer and closer!
Evening all. Soccer practice got cancelled again, making it a perfect 5 for 5 week. Hopefully we’ll get to play the games on Saturday, but we won’t know that until 7am tomorrow… Haven’t eaten since the Big Mac attack around 1:30, so probably need to forage for some sustenance. Watched some basketball and put the dishes away from the dishwasher, so that much is accomplished.
Thinking about getting someone hired to replace my gutters, they are original to the house and about 24 years old and bits and pieces are missing. Never have had it done so not sure it’s necessary, but with the roof done 3 years ago and the outside repainted 2 years past, it’s about the only outside housework that remains. Maybe get an estimate or two next week.
And that’s about all from here. All y’all have a good night and see ya Sattiday…
TGIF!
Read all, retained some. rosie’s sig to all.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
I didn’t get to the used furniture place owing to an unforeseen tragedy: all my socks gave up the ghost at once. I bought a jillion-pack of a good brand a year ago. When I put on a pair today, it slid down below my heel. So did the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pairs. I changed plans and walked to the Cheapo Depot chain store I rarely go to and got another jillion-pack. I woke up with a sore neck this a.m., so I treated myself to a new pillow, too. Then I waited in line for a full half-hour to check out. The cashier was tired and had clearly had it with humanity (Can’t blame her, poor thing.), but she kindly stuffed the pillow into a bag–a considerable feat–when she heard I was walking home.
Yet more proof there are more us [good people] than them [insert name here]. On the way home, it started pouring rain. Then the sun came out in one of those springlike mood swings, and there was a rainbow!
I intermittently chastise my immune system to sit up straight and pay attention to the lessons the vaccine is trying to teach them. I know those little scalawags too well
MetalMouse, seems like with houses, it’s all Rosanne-Rosanna-Danna.
Doggio, you need to have a serious talk with your subconscious.
I need to have a talk with swampy’s subconscious Mob girlfriend.
Mine usually involve a boat or the tender. This morning’s included a QM off my last boat and a port call in the Bahamas (a place I’ve never actually visited), with a bird farm anchored offshore. I was annoyed because I’d finished the roll of film in my camera and hadn’t brought a spare roll…
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort. I had a regular dream last night. Zombies were chasing me around a Kmart.
Last night the lamp next to the bed turned on. It has gesture control, and is pointed at the corner. I turned it off, and went to the bathroom. Went back to bed and the lamp was on again. Ended up unplugging it.
Don’t want to know why it decided to turn on suddenly, but it’s getting cleaned today.
Made scones this morning. Hubby wanted fluffy scones, so I tried a different recipe. They are fluffy. The recipe makes 10 and we ate 3, so guess what’s for breakfast tomorrow and Monday?
Going to make a carrot cake to use up the cream cheese. Does anyone actually make carrot cake without cream cheese frosting?
Also bought bananas to make banana bread, but they need to ripen a bit more. I could also put cream cheese frosting on that as well, but I prefer it on carrot cake.
And it looks like Bird’s custard powder is back in stock, so I can order some. And then make Nanaimo bars. Gotta have goals.
Happy Saturday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was less a slugabed today. ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 60 and maybe somewhat N.O.S. this afternoon. We shall see. Today is the first official day of Spring. I think. Absolutely no plans for the day. I foresee sloth and chillage. However, we may go to the little bar just up the road for a burger and a beer. This shall be a forage when the need to feed strikes kinda day. I took a hunk o’ poke outta da freezer last night. I foresee turnin’ it into bbq for tomorrow.
Scad cream cheese frostin’ is the only appropriate frostin’ for carrot cake. Anything else would be an abomination straight outta Philistia.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
I woke so sure it was nearly 7, but when I looked at the clock, it wasn’t even 5. Obviously my internal clock needs a reboot. I did stay in bed till 6:50 and I feel more or less rested.
It’s 27° this morning - yeah, yeah, happy first day of spring, dammit.
I know warmer days are coming, but maybe today ain’t one of them? We shall see.
I was going crazy last night trying to find the raggedy old cardigan I wear around the house. It wasn’t anywhere!! OK, it was actually on the back of the chair where I’m sitting right now - it was a dark cardigan on a black chair in a dark room - guess that’s why I couldn’t’ see it. Still, I’m glad it’s not lost. It’s really ratty and old, but it’s perfect for warmth when I don’t need to be seen.
I have one more pack of ground beef thawed that I think will become salisbury steaks for the freezer. Then I think I’m done making food to take to FL, apart from some baking right before we leave. I’m going to take small loaves of craisin bread and several batches of cookies. But those can be made later.
FIL fell again, and MIL had to call an ambulance. Even that hasn’t convinced them to move. No wonder FCD isn’t sleeping well - he’s so worried about them. I don’t know if I’m more worried or angry. I guess it’s a bit easier on me because so far, my mom is doing OK and she’s not quite as stubborn as the inlaws are. Plus if my brother tells her she needs to do something, she will, so there’s that.
Is that an anachronistic statement or what?? Not too long ago, I was sorting a box of old photos - like from the middle 60s when I’d gone on a class trip. Apart from not remembering who was in any of the photos or exactly where they were taken, every one was black and white. Color film was way too expensive in those days, both to buy and to develop.
Meanwhile, today I have thousands of photos on my computer from various vacations and events since I got my first digital camera, and I hardly look at any of them. In fact, unless I want new wallpaper, I don’t even think of them. Yet if they all went away, I’d be crushed. Weird, huh?
Happy Vernal Equinox and Happy Saturday!
I didn’t realize till you posted! (I’m a very bad witch.)
I used to have anxiety dreams all the time, and usually the same few just recycling over and over. I finally (I think) traced it to one of my meds, which lists that as a side effect. I switched from night to morning and the dreams have largely disappeared.
Happy Spring!
Moooooom, hugs to you and FCD re his folks. It’s a bad situation to be in. Like you, I don’t look at my digital photos nearly as much as I do the prints and I scrapbook. I think next year’s project will involve stuff on my digital roll primarily (that means a lot of pics of Nelson
).
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted ans a load of jeans in the wash. After KP, I’ll shevel and go get some groceries.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Spring hath sprung! Highs in the 50s all week, and only tonight and the next two nights below 40!
Someone should start a Vernal Sequinox Sequential Thread.
Made some extra hours today, since the 200 slide was FUBAR(a very Captain Obvious statement). Laundry is hung, and Gordie and Woody have had a nice screaming match. Naptime!
[Frank Sinatra]there’s no nicer witch than you…[/Frank Sinatra]
As opposed to the vermin equinox, which is 2 rodents of equal length.

An absolutely lovely Saturday afternoon in western Mitten State today: upper 40s, might hit 50 F and lows above freezing for the next few nights.
The hardware stores and gardening depots are PACKED today! No surprise.
I succumbed, too, and put out some (hopefully) cold-hardy seeds, and am planning to stick into dirt this afternoon the tulip bulbs I was chilling all winter (and planning to force) so I can play outside in the dirt some more!
I moved one rat group this morning into new bedding: a 1.2 (one male, two females) with EIGHTEEN juveniles. That’s one proud poppa, and two smug, self-satisfied mommas. One of whom looks like she swallowed a golf ball i.e. more on the way.
That’s what African soft-furred rats do best: Xerox lotsa copies of themselves.
Aw, man, I thought you were kidding!
Turns out, I’m just an uncultured heathen barbarian swine:
