Happy St. Paddy’s Day to those who give a darn! I give only the smallest of darns, myself, despite being 50% Irish: I’ve never been one to mark the day by going out/drinking, so it’s mostly just like any other. But when I chose which t-shirt to wear this morning, I did pick a faded Guinness shirt that I got at a Kohl’s a long time ago.
If I were gonna be on camera or out in public I’d add my silver shamrock earrings, but today has been/is likely to continue being pretty solitary. (not complaining!)
I succeeded in accomplishing very little yesterday. Mostly I just watched a lot of TV, but I did make some progress on my nephew’s Batwing. With new Lego sets, the pieces come in numbered bags for easier assembly: each bag covers a certain number of steps, and contains just the pieces you need for those steps. Because this is a set that I disassembled and am putting back together I don’t have the numbered bags*, but I have the build instructions so I’m tracking my progress by how many “bags” I’ve finished: there are 12, and I’ve finished 4 (33% done!). It’s finally starting to look bat-like:

*The main difference is that it can take a while to find the pieces needed for each step: instead of only searching through the pieces in that particular bag, I’m searching through all 2300+ pieces at once. I’ve separated and organized them, but it still takes longer.
[2:20pm: I just exchanged a few emails with the recruiter for the position I interviewed for on Friday; she asked about my salary requirement, and when my coverage ends. I hope this means she’s working on an offer…the stress/not knowing is going to kill me!!]
Ahhhh, gotcha! Thanks for explaining how your place does it.
Ha!
I don’t hate that idea, but there’s more to me than Lego…like being a jazz singer…hmm, I wonder if I could make the sign on my Lego jazz club work?? One problem with these avatars is that they’re so tiny: it’s often hard to tell what they are! I’ll definitely have to do some thinking, and experimenting with images.
Sometimes you guys make it hard for me to love you…
That’s more like it!
I can’t drink beer anymore since my bariatric surgery (carbonation is a no-no), but I miss having a meal-in-a-glass Guinness every now and then.
Same here!
I signed up for the weekly email, but I only read the “five answers to five questions” columns (the ones where the title ends with “and more”). With the others, I got tired of reading an interesting question only to be directed to another publication/site for the answer. I get enough out of the 5/5 columns, though!
