Tougher Puzzle

I’m sick of my puzzles getting solved in a coupleof posts so I’ve decided to up the ante & give you a harder one.

Yesterday I was walking through my local park when I happened upon two largeish statues spaced about 5 meters apart. The first statue was of a cobra, poised to strike, the second was of a walrus. They were positioned facing eachother and as I look at them I see that there are engravings on the pedestals.

Below the cobra is written

As it was in the beginning.
Below the walrus is engraved

Stupid bloody Tuesday.

Inbetween the two statues is a third pedestal which used to have a figure on it but this figure had been stolen. The thief had scrawled “The Missing Link” on the middle pedestal. What statue used to reside on that middle pedestal?

Paul and Ringo trying to form a duet.

Huh?

Well, at least this one hasn’t been solved in 2 minutes. Here’s a hint:

On further examination of the Walrus Statue you find a small piece of paper lying at the bottom of the pedestal. on this piece of paper the words Magical Mystery Tour are scrawled in a childish hand.

Bumped for Biotop.

Hint: Both the Snake and the Walrus represent something else, that something else is the link between them. For the Snake, think of the Garden of Eden and what happened there. For the Walrus, pay special attention to the Magical Mystery Tour hint**.

I hope I haven’t given it all away.

is it an apple?

The Snake represents the Snake from the garden of Eden. The clue to this is the inscription underneath which says As it was in the Beginning, the beginning being a reference to Genesis. In Genesis the Snake tempted Eve to eat an unnamed forbidden fruit which is commonly interpreted as an APPLE

The Walrus represents the Song I am the Walrus by The Beatles, the (admittedly oblique) clue to this was the inscription Stupid Bloody Tuesday which is a quote from the song. I gave the hint Magical Mystery Tour which was the album on which I am the Walrus was released. That Album was released on the Beatles own record lable, APPLE records.

Well done again brother rat.
