Will discuss it with the fam, and get back to you tonight.
Okay! I thought the ROM might be a good thing for, say, 12:30 Saturday afternoon before the restaurant. [sub]sorry about mangling your username, MrFantsyPants[/sub]
Sounds good, Kythereia!
Just a note - ROM has free admission after 4:30 on Fridays, and if at all possible I will be taking my 3-year-old son there this Friday (I hope to, other plans permitting) to look at the dinosaurs. Those who are in town for the event may or may not find that useful knowledge. The bit about ROM being free, I mean, I figure it unlikely that anyone cares about the small child aspect. Even with full admission price, it isn’t terribly expensive, so it may not be terribly useful information.
No worries, Snupsace. Our plans have changed somewhat, and now it is just me coming down for the evening shindig. Hopefully this will not screw things up too much for your day plans.
No prob!
I can keep things flexible for if matt_mcl can make it and wants to do a Subway Saunter.
[sub]please do not attempt to diagram that last sentence[/sub]
I’m sure I won’t win any awards for farthest… *I’ve *travelled farther for a Dopefest (Amsterdam a few years ago), but I might win for farthest trip to a Canada fest.
I won’t have a car (driving in strange cities makes me nervous) but I usually have no trouble with public transit. If someone wants to send links, that would be good - or I will try to look them up before I leave. All else fails, I will taxi - I assume Toronto has taxies? (resists dogsled joke, trying to be a better American ) Since I am arriving around the time the festivities begin, that’s probably the best choice anyway.
Back to packing… I have so few clothes that are good for truly cold weather that it’s not really that hard to choose.
I think I’m gonna make my cancel definitive. I’ve got a lot more than I thought happening this weekend. Sorry, folks. have a great time though!
The Toronto Transit Commission site has lots of useful information, including the schedules page. I wouldn’t recommend trying to open the “Full System Map,” as it is incredibly detailed.
You can check Toronto weather to see what you should be wearing.
Jumping in on your post Matt
Well, work has reared its ugly head ,I won’t be able to make it on saturday .
Declan
Going to have to bow out folks. I tried to move a couple of things around, but it turns out the bride and I will have firm plans on the 11th.
Have a good time everyone!
So sorry you can’t be with us, matt_mcl, Declan, Dante.
[sub]Do, cxu tio signifas, ke mi devas babili esperante nur al mi mem?[/sub]
I might not be able to make it to Tronnadope. Might.
I’ll let you all know tonight…
I don’t think Saturday is going to be special in terms of weather. Unless you’re from a southern state you shouldn’t have any trouble (the 6 feet of snow usually doesn’t come into play until Jan/Feb).
And TTC is really the best way to make it. You can’t miss Union Station.
My GF/Fiancee isn’t coming. She thinks I’m nuts meeting people from the Internet. Please no one prove her right by trying to kidnap/axe murder me please!
Nooo…!!! They’re melting away like snow in April! AAAIIEEE!!!
Oh well. Means more chips and salsa for me.
Melting away like snow in April??? You mean July, don’t you?
bump

Garn. Missed a page of thread.
I think I can add cowgirl and bashere to the pencilled in (i.e. maybe) list?
Yup, I’ll be there.
Yay!
Looks like I’m actually a go. Please move me to the ink column. Thank you for noticing me.
