We’re trying to see how many different ways we can spell Tronna.
Oo, looky! In honor of the TrannaDope, it looks like on Dec. 11, Toronto is going to make the World’s Biggest Poutine!
Time to celebrate!

T-minus 4 days…
So have we confirmed a time yet? 5 pm at the restaurant? I’ll be busy wraping presents during the day in Scarborough.
What do you do at Dopefests? I’ve never been to one? Will I be the oldest there? (44)
I’m not certain I’m gonna make it, folks. I have some debauchery scheduled on Friday night, and while I have cheques coming in this week, I’m not sure how big they’ll be or if I want to blow them on two days of travel. I might still come, but don’t count on me.
Thanks to Eats_Crayons for her offer
Bummer… well, I guess this means I can leave my apartment messy?
You could do that anyway.
I might still show. I hope this isn’t a problem…
Okay, that’s it. Even if I wasn’t before, I’m definitely coming to this thing now. [sub]restrains comment about glass floors[/sub]

Am I going to have to represent the Esperanto-speakers all by myself?
Eat, chat, party, wander from place to place. Some of us may hit a couple of museums, such as the ROM, as well. If matt_mcl can make it, we may explore the subway, him being a subway aficionado and all. I don’t think you’ll be the oldest one there… I’m 41, but I think Booker57, who is from Rochester (I think) and has been to TronnaDopes before, is older than that.
MrFantsPatns, wanna take in the ROM?
Pencil me in for the lonestar @ 5 pm , weather permitting

This is wacky – I’ve just confirmed a business trip to Toronto, so I thought I would check this thread for ideas about what to see. Turns out your fest is happening the day I arrive
I’ll be getting in about 5pm on the 11th, and will need to check into the hotel (downtown), but would love to catch you all later. Could someone email me (info in the profile) a way to contact you?
(and if I do come, Canadiangirl will not be the oldest!)
Sassy, check your email. I’ve left you a contact number.
Got it - thanks! Now to MapQuest to figure where everything is
Heh. Cerowyn got there before I could get home and get to my email…
Here’s the website for the Lone Star.
Say, are we clsoe to having a final number of participants so someone can check for reservations?
Guzzling mass quantities at the Lone Star, running naked on the subway, grabbing some leftover poutine and then an all nighter in Sassy’s hotel room?
This definitely requires consideration…
:dubious: Keeping in mind my advanced age, I will have to insist on…
fresh poutine! (I’ve never had it, so would like to get it right.) As for the hotel room, please keep in mind that my boss will see the bills — no ordering those special movies or raiding the mini-bar. I guess we can find a liquor store
Um, yeah, about that, we might have to explain a few things…
I’m still pencilled while I work out child care issues. Zber is definitely out, though.
Hey Sassy where are you coming from? You might unintentionally be the farthest doper to travel for a dope fest (we’ll keep the part of you coming here for work secret).
Are you familiar with public transit in Toronto? Mapquest, I don’t believe, shows public transit hubs around the city. If you have a rental car then, as I said in my prior posts, there are 2 underground parking lots and 1 above ground one in the area. (The above ground is the easiest to spot but prices there vary depending on what’s going on in the area).
I’ll get out the list when I get home from classes… and take a look at reservations. How’s that?
If we can keep the travel for working part secret, I regularly go from Toronto to Tokyo to meet up with Sublight (and formerly scr4 before he switched continents). How’s that for distance?
