**FCD **emailed me from the office - the network is up and running. Did I mention that he buried a CAT6 cable in a trench going from the house to the shop?
Amazingly, I’m still awake. But the painting adventure tonight should be interesting…

What is this; the Spanish Inquisition?
And it helps that I grew up loving jazz/big-band/swing stuff. One of the huge joys of my life is that I got to play a gig with Baron Elliott’s Band in the 70s as a sort of “their version” of Ish Kabibble.
There ------ more YouTube/Google to occupy your free time.
He had a style and attitude that has never been matched. And to the best of my recollection right now he may have been the only drummer-famous-band-leader out there.
But as a technical showmanship drummer I offer …
His name is Steve Moore and he is actually even better most of the time; fantastic on the skins.HE’S FAT, HE’S DEAD, AND HE’S THE MAIN COURSE!
Between the wall of the shop and my one at Dad’s I had a lot of great old cartoons. Should have saved some of them as more than memories.
(Another I always liked showed a couple hunters in a blind; one with his arms extended a couple times. The one says “I wonder why we aren’t getting any ducks” and the other replies “maybe we aren’t throwing the dog high enough”. And the little baloon coming from the top of the panel “Arrph?”)
Howdy…it’s afternoon already. Slept in and mowed the yard about 10am, then bathed and ate and read…just getting to my internettin’ now. Looks like the rain is South and East of me, so might have been able to wait on mowing, but t’was best to get it done while the getting was good.
Butters, it always bemuses me how we clean up for somebody coming in to do clean up…
OK, everybody have a good day.
Metal Mouse well, they have to be able to reach the surfaces they need to clean. At least that’s the issue I used to have.
It’s too hot. I plan to turn into a lump of melted person and moan softly to myself until this heat wave is over.
Got up real early to try to shoot sunrise; however “partly cloudy” turned into full cloud cover.
I wasn’t expecting that.
Happy Hot Air Balloon Day!
Happy Global Running Day!
We’ll be leaving in an hour or so to go to our Wine and Design adventure. I’m taking some bottled water with me because, apart from being the driver, I’ve been up since 1AM and wine would pretty much knock me out.
Here’s tonight’s project. It’ll be interesting to see how well I do, having had almost no training in artsy painting. If we like it, the summer is BOGO, so future events will be half price. We shall see…
Howdy Y’all! I laid in and stored provisions, went over to the church house and hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans to where they go for pickup tomorrow and made sup which has been et. Someone has already mowed the entire front area of the church house as well as the playground and doggie park area. Obviously happened this mornin’. So YAY! I won’t worry about goin’ over there tomorrow. I could and should move da cave yahd and may do so tomorrow if’n the rain holds off. No rain so far but looks like it’s on the way.
MOOOOOOM I am reasonably certain my Pubic Sto’ does not have an in store bakery bein’ as I have never smelled bakin’ whilst in there. I shall have to check to see if pumpernickel raisin bread is a thing there.
Happy Hump Day.
Has been a messy day, nothing worked as it should have, including me.
Still sick, still tired, and tired of being sick and tired.
Where ya moving to cave yahd to Swampy?
Painting sounds like fun FCM
My dad’s cartoon collection had a lot of Frank & Ernest, Hagar the Horrible, BC and Alley Oop. I’m not sure what he did with them all when Sis took the desk.
Got everything put away and labeled today. Tomorrow, I get with the 5S guy to take (hopefully) a lot of it off my hands. What’s left will go to recycling or the red tag area.
Tonight, I’ll wrap up a project for a kid’s birthday party and pack it for shipping.
Mooooom, I’ve been curious about those painting party classes. Let us know whether it’s fun or not.
Well, we got a little rain this evening, so guess I did well to mow the lawn this afternoon. Dinner was a big bowl o’sallit with the trimmings. Tomorrow is garbage day, so my first chore upon awakening will be to get the trashcan out to the curb–hopefully with the trash in it.
FCM, if I remember, I’ll check my local Publix next time I’m out that way. Hope you stay awake for the painting.
Feel better soon, Sari.
Have a good evening all.
Back and there’s a pic of my artwork on FB for those who care. It was fun and I imagine it’d be a hoot with a group of friends. We will go again. But now, I need zzzzzzz—
Awaiting a day of trying to read useless documentation: we have docs for the users, detailing what I already know how to do thank you, in multiple languages, but no explanations on all the bespoke setup these people came up with. Something which should require two screens requires four, of which the two that must be done first are undocumented. Well, the documents exist, oh yes, and they are in the document library, oh yes.
Empty.
The “trying” is because you never know who’s going to burst in, having suddenly discovered that they can’t finish the test they set up because they activated quality inspections without telling quality and now their stuff is “stuck”. That’s always fun, at least the part where we tell them to bring us coffee while we start fixing the booboo.
And then this afternoon I have an interview for a possible new project. The real question, and the one which sadly can’t be asked in interviews is “which of the two companies is more managed-from-the-ass?”
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of ONLY 87 (BRRR!) and a forty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and allow mowage of da cave yahd this mornin’. Sari I could move da cave yahd next door and let the neighbors mow it and then move it back, but that would require takin’ down the fence around the back yahd, which is probably more trouble than it’s worth. Other than the makeage of sup, TBD exactly what, that is the big plan of the day.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Happy Thursday Y’all!
Good morning! I mostly slept thru the night, which shouldn’t be a surprise, since I was exhausted. I meant to bring my artwork to the office this morning, but I forget it. Dammit.
We got some good rain last night. OK, I’m out of small talk.
Happy Thursday!!
BC I never was a big fan of except for one series of exceptions; when clams had gams, followed by clams with arms, and then the ever popular clams with livers. Something in all that just got my attention more than his usual puns.
Time to get the last of the crap in the car and hit the pavement. I want to grab some extra tobac for my brothers ---- just to fend off the skeeters of course. NOT because we enjoy smoking around the campfire.
Really.
Would I lie to you?
Happy Thorsday!
It’s a cloudy 73 degrees, supposed to get up to 84.
I’m finishing up the laundry that didn’t get done yesterday.
It’s good to have something to wear.
I’m felling better today although I still am coughing all the time.
Morning all. Cool today (70F only getting to the mid-70’s) and rain in the forecast today, tonight, and tomorrow. Swampy, just checked the NWS radar for the Southeast USA and I suggest you need to mow early…
Garbage made it out to the curb before the truck, so my adultingphase is done. Raisin toast is on the menu in a few minutes.
Keep getting better, Sari.
Ruble, enjoy your time with your brothers…and try not to demolish more of the state than absolutely necessary…
Nava, enjoy work…
Take care all y’all.
Hmmmm…4 hours and nary a response…all y’all must be working today.
Paid water bill and visited bank, so outside chores are completed. No heavy rains but a steady precipitation continues, temperatures remaining in the 70’s.
Will consider nappage in a bit.
Working? :dubious:
I was out impulse buying a second hand pasta machine, because my homemade pizza’s getting decent now, and I’m apparently trying to turn into an Italian nonna. It was only £4, and I’ve wanted one for ages. Anyone got any recipe ideas? I’ve found some basic dough making guides.
I am working the next two days, however- which should be interesting, because getting to work will mean driving very very close to the county show, which is on this weekend. If it’s anything like last year, I’ll have to go through all the teeny tiny back lanes or spend nearly an hour getting what’s usually 15 minutes drive away. Unless everyone else has seen the forecast of course, which is for heavy rain all day, and decides to leave it for Saturday.
