Trivia in the MMP

I was hiding in the dark, myself. I have emerged into the light of the kitchen and am sitting at the kitchen table to do the computer things. In a moment, I will read a book.

Glad you are feeling better, Sari.

Have fun with the brothers ruble!

nut, if your pasta cutter is the same model that my mother used, 12 pounds was a steal. Mom inherited hers from my dad’s mother, who had used it for a couple of decades, and when Mom passed, my baby sister inherited it. Mom made some killer egg noodles and the machine made cutting them much easier.

The 5S guy came back today and took most of the stuff on the shit can cart. Tomorrow, I red tag / recycle the remaining [del]shit[/del] items. I’m hoping to get off irk a bit early and go get the tags on my car renewed.

We’ve had our first over 100 degree days here… about a month later than usual I think aunts going to give in and get the cooler running now …

welp today was the last day of school for kidlets here … ours is a straight a+ 3rd grader so aunts crowing with pride to all who will listen…
I’ll probably be around later than usual when I do appear … but tis a slow week around here …

It cooled down some today with the rain. We’re supposed to get some more this weekend. While we could use it, it would interrupt the air show. The Blue Angels will be here for the first time since the accident three years ago. I’ve told a couple of friends to come on over for some adult beverages and to watch it from my patio. It will be less crowded than the park and cheaper than the clubhouse ($150 a pop).

They finally fixed the main computer at work. Get to meet the new DM tomorrow. Watching 2 hockey games at once.

“The wicked run when no one is chasing them” -Proverbs 28:1 :p;)

A flash flood warning. It has been raining like hell since 15:00. Like we really need this. The Arkansas River is almost above the trestles of the railroad bridge between Little Rock and NLR.

I vote Harrisburg as not absolutely necessary; especially, 501 N 3rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17120

Sell the pasta for more than the cost of the ingredients.

:dubious:

As punishment, you are on a two-drink limit.

My friend, who lives in LA, daughter graduated a private/Catholic all-girls HS last night. The ceremony was at the Hollywood Bowl! Yes, thatHollywood Bowl!!! They (Mom, Dad, & siblings) had a box that they decorated & sat in, while eating the fancy picnic fare they brought with them. The graduates wore white gowns, not cap & gowns; gowns, as in ball gowns.
They do things differently in LA.

“Should not show up at the front gate wearing part of a Russian uniform, messily drunk.”?

Even if my commander did it?

Today is carpet-cleaning day!! WOOHOO!! Envy me!!!

Nope, still can’t get excited about it. But I’ll be cleaning the carpet in this room, and when it’s dry, we’ll bring up the shelves and love seat from the basement. It’s so weird seeing the room without the other 2 desks… I’ll probably run the cleaner in the traffic area of the living room, too - it’s kinda gross-looking.

I’ve also got to bake brownies to take to the company picnic tomorrow. And I need to run to the grocery store for a few things. Busy day ahead!!

Happy Firday!!!

Well, to move on from the drunks…(not you, FCM, you posted while I was typing)

Up at 4:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. Turns out while checking last night, no soccer teams from our region are going to the tournament in Spartansburg, so laying out many hundreds of dollars to referee for free and no other regional representation there seems like a good reason to cancel my trip. Getting confirmation from the Comish. Was going to be an issue anyway, I was due to come home on the 16th and then start my vacation on the 18th, which wasn’t giving me much time to get ready.

Rain today, tonight, and tomorrow, but not in the copious quantities that the Midwest/Arkansas are suffering.

Now need to go get the newspaper and see if I can solve Sudoku’s with 5 hours sleep…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 77 Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of ONLY 87 (better get out my woolies!) and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted today, tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. We shall see. I woke up around four-thirty to pee and decided to go back to bed. Next thing I knew it was eight-thirty. Feel all rested up however. No big plans for the day at all. I shall do some online shoppin’/lookin’ for a vacuum cleaner for the church house since the current one is on its last legs. It has been repaired twice so I feel it necessary to get a new one. Plus also, the current one was a donated vacuum and, I think, used. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Firday!

It was an awful morning. Panic! Anxiety! Dread! I mean how could I go about my day with the boards being down & me not knowing the weather in Souf Jawja?

Thank Og order has been restored.

The famous Hood strawberries are in for their brief annual appearance this week. These are super sweet and juicy, and aromatic to boot. I made a shortcake last night and some whipped cream, and macerated a whole half-flat of the berries in sugar. Some kinda good, I tells ya. But as usual, I think I can still eat like a teenager and overdid it, so am feeling a bit punk this morning. It’ll pass, though, and then I’ll do it again because I’m just not all that bright.

This is also an amazing year for flowers, for some reason. The yard is a riot of roses and peonies. The Ms picked enough flowers yesterday to open a shop and the house smells very nice.

Got some time to myself later this morning, so I’ma watch the last episode of GOT. I don’t know why people are bitching about this season, as I think it’s been pretty good. But that’s for another forum, n’est c’est pas?

lol, chef, i did the same thing … I decide to drop 80$ and have red lobster through grub hub… i don’t know why but these delivery places always mess something up…the seafood was great and the protions were huge …but I think the bisque curdled or something … they forgot my niece’s milk… and they gave me that strange rice stuff instead of broccoli…
Now, normally I just shrug and say well I got most of it if just ordering burgers or something … but when ya pay the small house payment for red lobster … dammit it better be perfect lol

Today we shall have another day of reasonable temperatures. It will be in the low 80s. After this, we’re back in the 100-sies. Booooooo!

Hubby comes back from Texas today. I managed one productive day while he was gone, and spent the others scrapping my spoons together to recover.

My dad is off taking a driving lesson, which is a very good thing. He failed his driving test at the DMV (deservedly so) but he doesn’t want to give it up. I told him that he needed to actually move his head around (in all seriousness) in order to drive safely. He told me that he would wait to see what the driving instructor said. If you pictured my dad driving like Mr. Magoo, you would have things exactly right.

Even if it’s the other half of the same uniform?

I won’t watch season 8 until I can get it on a DVD and binge watch it in the privacy of my own home. Not for * those reasons* , you pervs, but because I can’t watch TV around here without eleventy-dozen interruptions.
For this reason I’m pissed at Jimmy Kimmel for spoilering the ending for the sake of a stupid joke. Asshole.

Had a fun-filled couple of days here. Bathtub in the master bath stopped draining. Nothing else. Just that tub. Went under the house several times Wed. and Thors. trying to get a plumbing snake, and then a plastic, (and thus more flexible), snake to snake (heh) around 7 plumbing elbows before hitting the 4" line heading outside. I’s bruised and sore. A 72 year old man shouldn’t spend hours at a time crawling around under a house on his hands and knees.
Anyway, yesterday I admitted defeat and called a plumber to come over with his powered snake. He whizzed that drain out in about 10 minutes. Man, I want one of those tools! He cost me $117, and worth it.
He also told me that we shouldn’t give the dogs baths in the tub 'cause “pet hair is different from human hair” What he got out of there sure looked like dog hair.
Wifey, of course, disagreed. :dubious: Fine. Whatevers. It’s fixed.

First Friday Art Walk tonight. I have preparations to make. Also need to go out and procure dog food and a hair-catcher for the bathtub drain. :dubious:

Y’all take care.

hey has anyone heard from Juliet recently? i think its been a couple of weeks …

Bumba, tell her she pays for the next clogged drain…

Sunny, hope the driving instructor gets through to Dear Ol’Dad…my dad when in his 80’s still looked around, but drove so slowly that he was more of a hazard than if he had been going fast.

Chef not a strawberry person, but do know a little bit about over-consumption (DO NOT invite me to a buffet with unlimited bacon…), so hope you’re feeling better.

Shady, haven’t heard anything from Juliet; sometimes people will join us and then drift off, only to come back later. We shall see. Her last activity on the board was 18 May.

Rain has been replaced (for the moment) by sun, so went out a did a little shopping and let the King prepare lunch. Not much else planned for the day.

I believe **Juliet **was cut off the web at work, but she still posts on FB, so she’s alive and well.

I’ve cleaned the office carpet and half of the living room. **FCD **and I had lunch at Red Robin, then went to Lowe’s and Food Lion. I’ve baked 2 pans of brownies - one plain, one with crunchy peanut butter. I’ve had some Roxy time, and now I’m about to watch the news. Gonna check the weather, too, to see what we’re in for tomorrow at the company picnic.

It’s been a productive day.
