Swampy please report to the fainting couch. Swampy please report to the fainting couch, stat!

I never was either, but these are like eating candy. After a winter of bananas and Driscoll’s berries, locally grown really hits the spot.

Have you ever tried a new place to eat, and become immediately enamored of the place? I had a beer and sandwich last night and I wanted to go back today, but I am trying to keep my weight down. There is a part of town, on the north side of the river, that up until 1951 was prosperous. Then there was a massive flood, and the business area never really recovered. The businesses that remained were for the most part, low class, or dive bars. There were a few decent business that located there over the years, because the area was cheap.

It is now experiencing a resurgenge, with places to eat, small business, a couple of art galleries, and so on BTW, my favorite breakfast place is down there, has been for a long time. But this new place is called The Wheelbarrel. It had craft beers, good drinks(So I am told) and fantastic sandwiches. The latter are all variations on grilled cheese, with lots of extras. I enjoyed it immensely. It is nicely decorted, with a covered patio outside in the back. Next week I will go back with my sister, as it is her birthday.

The sandwich was called Jalap in the Club, with turkey, cheese, bacon, greens, and grilled jalapeno strips, on grilled sourdough bread. It had zing but did not burn.

The city in general is getting more good places to eat, and to drink good beer. I love what is happening.

flytrap, stay dry. We have had about 30 hours of on and off gentle rain, but we were in near drought conditions here.

cookie, for the last couple of weeks, we’ve been getting local strawberries from Portland, TN. They’ve been a sweet treat with yogurt and a little stevia.

sunny, a few years ago, when my folks were still travelling, my dad would scare the ever lovin’ shit out of me because he never checked his side mirrors when he’d change lanes. His rear view mirror was blocked by the truck topper, so it was a crap shoot whether he would cut someone off or not. At 81, he’s wanting to give up driving, but he lives 15 miles from stores, doctor’s offices and such. He doesn’t drive at night anymore and is looking for an assisted living facility that’s both affordable and will allow him to keep his dog. Once that happens, he plans to let it go.

baker, I become enamored like that occasionally. I like the Green Dragon Pub in the 'Boro because of their pub food, beer and the fact that one of my friends plays there the first Friday evening of the month. Unfortunately, with EoM/FoM kicking my butt the past few months and having to irk later than I used to, I’ve not been for several months.

Irked, came home, walked the dog and let the Captain do the cooking. I’s tahred. Tomorrow, I’ll sit out on the patio with an adult beverage or three and watch the air show.

Jimmy Buffet played North Little Rock.
Dude is OLD.

that’s good to hear FCM
oh lord its gonna be a long summer … we were woke up at 7 am due to nephew being here and its made aunt grumpy … her age is catching up with her fast… it was cooler today than earlier in the week
other than that not much going on this eve …

Worked, met the new boss(you can tell he’s Southern, he was wearing seersucker!). Came home.

We prefer “People of Stupor”

he growing older ,but now up!

Up, sheveled, off to irk because someone has to set up the charity bike ride.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 85 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for the day. We had rain off and on all yestiddy but no steady downpours as predicted. My church leadership group meets this mornin’ at nine-thirty. Rah. Other than that no real plans for the day.

Spidey  Truthfully, I do not see the thrill of that toy. Of course this is from someone who had a potato gun. That was fun. I also used it to shoot rolled bandages.

OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ in the public attire. Le sigh.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Happy Saturday!

According to my phone it is a N.O.S. 64 degrees outside. According to my window it is cloudy.

I could have slept in this morning, but I woke even earlier than usual.

Not much going on around here.
We have robins in the nest over the door. ).
My flowers are blooming, except one daisy still looks poorly.
Not going to the armpit this weekend. I’m still coughing and am still tired. I was thinking about going Wednesday, but my son has a huge test that day and he needs to go with me.
I worry about the professor of that class. I know I am a bit anal about some things (one of my friends said that if she was a professor she’d hate to have me as a student).
So this professor (actually she is a doctor)… gives the class a** HUGE!!!** assignment and says they have 4 weeks to complete it. The class is only 3 1/2 weeks long. She tells them they have to SITE their work. She says this no less than 4 times. One SITE is a typo, 4 SITES is a WTF?! Wednesday she emailed out this week’s test at 9am and it was due by 9pm. Yesterday she sent an email saying that next Wednesday’s test is an essay test and she is going to give them extra time, so she will be emailing out the test at 9am and it is due at 9pm. So where is the extra time?
Maybe I expect too much?
Antlers is getting bolder. The other day I was sitting out back and he crept a little closer and looked me in the face, then looked up to where I put out his food, then looked me in the face again, and looked up to where I put his food. So I got up and got some food for him. Lucky for him that I train so easily.

I mentioned I ordered a new vacuum cleaner for the church yestiddy from Amazon. OK, maybe I didn’t mention it, but I did. I don’t do the uber express deal so I’m always told whatever I order will be here in six days. I got an email this mornin’ tellin’ me I could expect it to arrive Sunday, though I am more inclined to believe 'twill be Moanday. Mayhaps Ruble told ‘em to expidite bein’ as it’s me.

Sari Antlers is evaluatin’ your worth as a servant. So far you seem to have done well.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Closing shift tonight.

Some fairly unsettled weather yesterday with some decent rain. Clearing today and we’re heading for what may be our first 100 degree day of the summer around Wednesday or so. Blagh. But it’ll give the tomatoes something to live for, so there’s that.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, puppy crate cleaned and a load of towels in the wash.

I’ll spend some time on the patio watching the air show today. Some friends will drop by around 2 for adult beverages and the show. When they leave, I’ll send the coat, harnesses, collars, etc that Nelson has outgrown for donation at the shelter that they volunteer at (when I lived in that town, I volunteered there too). I put them in a lingerie bag and am washing them with the towels this morning. They’ll be clean and ready to go before the guests arrive.

I spent the last 2 hours helping **FCD **in the shop. Before that, I started putting this room back together. In half an hour or so, we’ll be heading out to the company picnic. Somewhere along the line, I need to do laundry. At least I don’t need to cook today.

Happy Saturday!

I thought tomatoes stopped blooming at 80 F.

It is monsooning ,and Gordie is engaged in a fight with The Invisible Mole People.

Fickle bastards, aren’t they?

Made some killer buttermilk biscuits this morning, topped with butter and Tupelo honey, which I’ve just become familiar with. Really good honey, but if you decide to try it for yourself, stay away from the cheap stuff, which is heavily doctored with corn syrup. In fact, I’d just go with Lanier as a source, were I y’all.

Slept until 8am and then went out to a soccer tournament in a nearby city to spectate. Also did some shopping while I was out and managed to do it all between rainstorms. Just as well, more tunder-boomers are due tomorrow.

FCM, I get tired just reading all the stuff you do.

Red, hope the air show was able to work around the rain showers, and good on ya for the donations.

Sari, my guess is the prof has got other things on his/her mind besides this class and simply forgets what they said last. Or maybe they’re just stupid (I know a fair number of intelligent people that are functionally stupid).

Swampy, NWS shows a nasty bit of weather hitting the FL panhandle and moving slowly north, so by this evening things might get wet…

Think I’ll stay in for the afternoon. All y’all take care.

I bsked three pies this afternoon, one apple, one rhubarb, and one mulberry. They are for the picnic after church tomorrow. It is Pentecost, which ranks just below Easter in importance to the church year. Our congregation has folks who can read in non English languages, read the Gospel lesson simultaneously, to simulate the many tongues spoken when the Holy Spirit descended on the gathered disciples. I will be reading Korean.
