Looks quite sock-ish to me.
I would agree due to two things… The willingness to jump in assertively to existing threads, and the comfort/familiarity they seem to have. Maybe they are a long-time lurker or just have an assertive personality though.
However, I’m not so sure about the “trolling” part. They aren’t acting particularly offensive or controversial. They did challenge some people about discussing Covid-19 statistics but weren’t totally sealioning or saying anything crazy. And they backed off and apologized after offending someone in this thread. So if they are trolling it is pretty subtle to me.

Here’s BigT’s method of posting a non-linking link:
A simpler and better method is to put the link in a code block.
e.g.
https://boards.straightdope.com/t/drdeth-is-a-fuckin-jackass/933971/417
Then it’s clear that it’s not directly linked, and that you have to copy and paste the link to go to it.
With BigT’s method, people mouse-over the link and then wonder why they can’t click on it. To insert a link that way, you also have to remember the html code for a special character.
To put a link in a code block, all you need to do is put a backtick before and after the link.
