I first read that as “bear packing grease” and thought that perhaps all my life I had somehow been unaware of the great Canadian sport of bear packing. Canadian Tire does carry sports equipment as well as auto parts.

First time I visited some friends in Canada, they wanted to go to Canadian Tire, and asked if I wanted to go along.
I was baffled as to why I would be interested in going to a tire store, as my car was nearly a thousand miles away.
But they offered some poutine alone the way, so it was all settled.
Canadian Tire sounds a lot like Blain’s Farm & Fleet on this side of the border.
If they were real friends they would have taken you bear packing.

I realize that Canadian and USA English are different, but I did not realize just how different they are until seeing this post.
Is that anything like St. James Infirmary in Mountain View, California? That was a great place until it burned down (the pub, not the city, but given the situation in California, that might happen, too).
Only in the name of the place not giving much of a clue to what’s inside. Canadian Tire sells tires and a whole bunch of other stuff as well, likewise Farm & Fleet sells farm equipment plus much of the same sort of stuff that Canadian Tire carries.
