So do we suppose it’s a coincidence that there is a 2020 account, Dodgy_Dude, that seems to post infrequently, almost only in its own threads, that border on the fucking stupid (most recently a question about what one might do wit ha gold bar), or outright trolling (penultimate thread as of posting being a good example: I don’t understand the intensity of the hatred for Trump)?
ETA: Actually, looking into it, the account A_Dodgy_Dude just stopped posting in 2020 (maybe with the board change?) but was never officially banned. I’m starting to think this is an example of a sock account where the owner forgot which email they used to register it and so had to start over wit ha new one (which is, coincidentally, my running theory for anyone who could not figure out how to manage the transition it discourse in 2020: presumed sock).
Ah, well that explains why there was such little discussion here. Obvious troll seemed obvious to me. And it turns out, that’s because it was! So obvious it got its own thread…
Chicago Faucet spent some time shitting up the latest Cecil Column, arguing against a nearly 20 year old documentary on a point only somewhat related to the thing Cecil’s Column was about. Are humans producing CO2 at unprecedented levels? Does an increase in global average temperature have any effect on anything other than perhaps causing CO2 levels to also increase? What does any of this have to do with Canada? None of these questions will be answered, but they will continued to be asked by people whose opinions seem to have ossified somewhere around 2010.
He is so dumb by declaring that commenters debunked the science cited at Skeptical Science and that that is enough (yes, anonymous denier posters are scientists for him), forgetting that if it was debunked then the science would have changed a long time ago, the only solution for idiots like him is to also deny how the latest scientific reports and new data do not conform to what he stupidly declares.
The warning bells started going off for me when he mentioned getting banned from places where you have to try really hard to get banned, and when one of his reasons was
Another course of events is when someone says, “Hey, what conspiracy theories are we not allowed to talk about?”, and you answer them.
Aaaand, a conspiracy theory right out of the chute.
Chicago Faucet (in the latest Cecil column, Is Canada poised for world domination due to climate change?) makes me feel like a wildlife biologist who’s discovered an extant example of a species previously believed to be extinct. What ho! A verified authentic climate change denier, of the ancient species negator mutationis climaticae of which we previously only had fossils.
I love how Chicago Faucet thinks they’re angering people but it is like “No, dude, you’re just wrong and we’ve proved this crap wrong many, many, many times before.” I don’t think his return will last long. The only question will be whether he decides that “I’m just not welcome here” like with everywhere else that he’s left or gets banned in a blaze of glory.
BTW, another part of his profile is " Some call me a “sigma”, but I’m not a psychopath, if that’s what you were thinking." I had to google “sigma”:
So not only is this turd that floated back to the top of the toilet bowl a conspiracy theorist, but he is a proponent of Vox Day, the saddest of puppies.
I’ll need a bit of brain bleach later, but I did read that article.
It sounds like someone calls themself a sigma male if everyone thinks they are an asshole, but that’s just because of how much better they are, and if they wanted to, they could bend everyone to their will.
I didn’t look too hard, but I didn’t see, “How to not be an incel” on the incel wiki. Seems that’s what they need the most.
