TronnaDope: let's meet in Toronto!

Well, we could always try for another one soon.

Sorry I missed it! We are staying in all weekend with the new dog.

I used to live in that neighbourhood and I really miss it. (Altho the other side of town is really growing on me.) How was the establishment? I’ve never heard of it - is it new?

Anyone still in favour of setting up a weeknight dinner sometime soon?

Yes, let’s. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are good for me.

NOBODY expects the Toronto dopefest! Our chief weapon is surprise…surprise and fear…fear and surprise… Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless efficiency… Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope… Our four…no… Amongst our weapons… Amongst our weaponry…are such elements as fear, surprise… I’ll come in again.

eyes Le Ministre de l’au-delà So is that a vote for mexican food, or what?

So, how about the Peach Garden (Vietnamese) on Carlton across from the Gardens? Or there’s a Japanese place across the street?

I like either of those plans, though I lean slightly more towards Japanese than Vietnamese. I am also free every weeknight. Anyone else in? (Psst, Mahna, this is your second chance to bring out the Boy!)

Japanese it is then. The place is called “The Daily Sushi” I think (I like their teppanyaki). How about Thursday?

This Thursday?

I probably won’t know until Thursday afternoon…so I’m definitely a maybe.

This Thursday? Boy, we’re really on a roll with the last-minute Dopefests lately.

Sadly, I won’t be able to make it. I’ve got a friend flying in on Thursday night who is crashing at our place, so I need to be around to let him in and stuff (yeah, I know, I’m the epitome of hostess-dom, what with insisting on welcoming my guests in person rather than just leaving keys in the mailbox).

Next week would be much better, but no need to reschedule on my account.

cowgirl, the food was good, but not so spectacular that it would be worth crossing town just to eat there… on the other hand, if you feel like visiting the old 'hood and taking a wander down Roncy, it’s not a bad place to start off the journey.

I’m off to the Wicked 'Peg for a few weeks, but I’ll be with you in spirit.

Hmm. Sounds like next Thursday, the 26th, would be better. How about that then?

I’d be able to make it on the 26th, but not this Thursday.

WHA-AAAAT? When was this? How did I miss this?

There’s still a chance to hop on the bandwagon for the next one, Cellphone. Move fast, though, because this offer is only good for the first 20 callers and will expire in the next 30 minutes.

PS - I should be good for the 26th, barring zombie invasion and/or being sent to the Brampton office for the day. Mmmmm… sushi.

Sorry, folks; here in the Megacity, you snooze, you lose…

Er, I mean, Kid_A revived this thread and I somewhat to my embarrassment realized that we’d been inching towards a TronnaDope in November and then everyone got distracted. So we had one on Sunday. But hopefully we’ll have more.

I should advise everyone that Daily Sushi is small. We go in there every now and then with the Esperanto club and getting six people seated together is a squeeze. More than six is impossible (at which point, we go elsewhere)…

Next thursday is good for me, whereever we decide.

My friend mentioned a Mauritian restaurant just down from French Toast that sounds interesting. Unfortunately, it’s only open Fridays and Saturdays, so it won’t do for the 26th. But let’s keep it in mind.
