This is what I saw as well. Not only that but the scene where Sookie actually throws the chain at Mack has a supernatural, superspeed look to it. I’m convinced that Sookie has a power other than mindreading.

Bill is constantly referring to how she doesn’t “know how special she is”. I have no opinion on the superhuman strength thing, but it does seem to be hinted that she’s got more than mind-reading and resistance to vampire glam going for her (character wise, acting wise I’m really disappointed).
