True Blood: Soul of Fire

Awesome!

Loved the very last scene! Didn’t see it coming, and I don’t know why. Should have been expected.

Next week’s season finale looks like it’s going to knock the ball out of the park.

Not to threadshit, but when
Marnie was killed I thought “finally,” and said to my wife “they’d better not fuckin’ bring her back.”

Needless to say, I had a slightly different reaction to the final scene.
I agree, Turnip. The Marnie storyline wasn’t as bad as the demon baby story, but close. I did enjoy the scene with Lafayette and Jesus in bed at the end before Marnie appeared; it was sweet and sincere and I like that they’re not using the relationship for “OMG THEY’RE THE GAYZ!” shock value.

At this point, though, the main reason I’m watching is Jessica. And not only because I hope she gets naked.

And Pam, because she’s awesome. “A gash in a sundress” indeed.

A better ep than most this season, but still not very good. Eric had the best scene, though, ripping that guy’s heart out and drinking blood like it was juice box. The whole storyline with Marnie is just not interesting, and having her back in Lafayette’s body is just .

Best parts of the night:

When the vamps are doing a zombie stagger toward the shield, and Jessica is the only one who thinks to grab Jason.

Andy announcing that he got really good at sex.

Bill making a suicide pact with Eric, with Eric dying first. Oh yeah, Pam is really going to take that sitting down.

Pam snatching the vintage necklace off the robot vamp on the ground. Fashion first girlfriend!

Jessica and Pam having matching Snookie bump hairdos.

Forgot about that. Excellent!

The whole commando vamp force was cracking me up. Yay Jason for saving the day, sorta, and his whole dumb “Did I do that!?”

Jessica’s crack about PMS was awesome.

Poor Lafayette needs to learn a mouth-keeping-shut spell or something.

Technically, since Pam is female it doesn’t really apply, but I was wanting to shout BROS BEFORE HOS at Eric the entire time. What an asshole. If Sookie chooses Bill (I know how this goes in the books, lol)? Pam’s the one that will still be there. Plus I hate it when love interest is chosen before besties.

YAY DEBBIE’S GONE!

Anyone else think Sam was stupid not to kill Marcus?

Yeah, but it both kinda moot since Alcide took care of that, and shows that for all his problems he’s still a “good” guy.

I am betting the Andy is pregnant.

Did I miss that? Did Alcide kill Marcus?

I think the scene with Andy and the faerie in the woods is setting up the next season. This one started with Sookie in that weird faerie world and then they dropped that entire plotline. My guess is that’s going to be the focus of the next season.

That was my thought, too. They’re trying to create another “Sookie” who can be a bridge between the two worlds. Either that, or Andy is just one hunk of a guy that no fairy can resist…

Sam put down the gun, starts to walk away, Marcus goes for the gun, Alcide grabs him by the throat and doesn’t let go until he’s (at least I thought) dead.

I don’t know that Alcide meant to kill him, but I’m pretty sure he crushed his larynx.

He’s got to be dead. Everything in that scene where he punched him in the throat signaled it was a deadly strike.

I think that the faerie was doing the succubus thing to get Andy’s sperm. Isn’t he a distant cousin of Sookie and has some faerie in his lineage.

I saw Marnie ending up in Lafayette a mile away. Hopefully Jesus is smart enough to figure it out.

What were Bill and Eric discussing? I thought that Bill was going to back off so Eric and Sookie could be together.

I don’t believe he’s related to Sookie. He’s Bill’s great great great grandson, give or take a few greats.

Which reminds me, what about his sister? Portia? Who dated and was dropped by Bill? What was the point of even bringing her on?
