Trump and Melania test positive for COVID-19

You know I will never defend Trump if there is any alternative, but this business about the hospital is as silly as the business about the bunker.

Presidents are not the owners of their bodies. The Secret Service can and will move them like baggage if they feel the situation requires. That is the explanation about taking him to the bunker. He was not being a coward; the Secret Service was doing their jobs and overriding anything he said.

Same with medical issues. The doctors are in charge now. Moving the president to the hospital once he’s sick and on experimental medications is standard procedure. Any president would be treated this way, not just Trump.

Ugh. Don’t make me defend Trump again.

He’s also likely obese and has diabetes, plus there are all those people he comes in contact with on a regular basis. Taking those into consideration, the same site dropped his chance of surviving to 86%.

I tend to think at least as of now, that’s what’s happening. He looked perfectly healthy at the debate.

Twitter statement from Eric Trump:

.

@RealDonaldTrump is a true warrior. He will fight through this with the same strength and conviction that he uses to fight for America each and every day. I ask you to join me in praying for his recovery. I have never been more proud of someone and what they have had to endure.

So, I guess he’s doomed then.

He walked in and off the helicopter wearing a mask. I am really not suprised since he has only had it for a couple of days. Its an over abundance of caution that you would expect from the presidents handlers. He could be there a week or more at least.

And he just posted a video. No surprise there either.

smart move. better to have him in hospital. this virus moves fast and crazy things happen after sundown and in the wee hours of the morning.

 No, really:

It also makes good PR to show him walking on and off the helicopter. Because that says “precautionary measures”.

Footage of him being carried on and off the helicopter doesn’t say that.

And he waited for the 6 o’clock news feed. He still is politicking.

Is his deductible more than $750?

Right - It’s Omar whose Muslim, right? My bad.

Anyone notice the tick Trump has when boarding a plane or helicopter? He taps the railing with his right hand.

Trump tweets:

What the hell, dude?

Yeah, she’s got an accent from where she grew up. Get over it. Holy crap, that was… bizarre.

No one cares that he’s going to the hospital. It’s that Trump goes on and on about how healthy and powerful he is, despite the fact that he’s elderly and obese and generally appears to have an unhealthy lifestyle.

Anyone with even a shred of honesty about their fragility would not face the same criticism. And of course Trump’s claims were always laughable to anyone paying attention. That doesn’t mean we can’t laugh at the contradiction here.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Context, man. No one really thinks it’s a sign of weakness or cowardice or whatever that Trump is going to (at) the hospital. As @Exapno_Mapcase said, any president would have been taken there whether they liked it or not. It’s just a laughable contradiction with, for example, Ronny Jackson’s claim that with the right diet, Trump might live to be 200.

Meanwhile, Biden says he is pulling all of his negative ads. Even though most of the negative ads are from the nevertrump groups it’s still a classy move.

Well, the context is that a president who has denied and trivialized a virus since day one, has contracted the virus. Other presidents going to the hospital have always been a big deal, but not as victims of a pandemic nor through a fault of their own. So this has a very different context.

Well on the other hand that’s why you could expect him to walk out if there was any way he could manage it. And if he couldn’t walk, the transfer would be done in secret.
