I’m guessing, but I imagine the President’s hospital room is some sort of very nicely appointed apartment with adjacent staff quarters and offices - not the kind of hospital room you and I are used to.

My religious mother said something similar and I told her to be careful. She barely survived COVID herself, and as a minister she knows many families who are grieving lost loved ones. More good people have suffered from COVID than bad people.
Remember when Lyndsey Graham said that if we elect Trump he will destroy the Republican party and they’ll deserve it? I think it’s actually happening, literally.
It would be extremely ironic if the Rose Garden super-spreader celebration for Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination took down enough Republican senators that they don’t have the votes and can’t get them before January 21st.

Not EVERY group event is going to result in widespread infections. But if you attend an event without incident, that doesn’t mean you were right and the people who are against large events wrong. It just means you got lucky. Once.

The controlled shutdowns of the about 20% of non-essential businesses with high level of person to person contact could ultimately be less economically damaging than the shutdowns that occur as the virus ravages random businesses that then have to shut down without warning.

There are two generations of voters just entering the pipeline who are horrified by what they’re seeing out of the GOP (by about a 2-1 margin). The science denial alone is enough to kill all credibility for the party in their eyes.
ABC is reporting a worsening of his condition, including chills, fever, coughing and congestive problems.
OK, I’m going to ask the question and I don’t care if it sounds crass, is it better for the Democrats in the election if Trump survives or doesn’t survive over the next few weeks?
What a shock that Ron Johnson, AKA the stupidest person in the Senate, has COVID!
Tell me about it. Is there a wider-gap smart/dumb Senate pair than in Wisconsin these days? I think not.
Why? My wife and I saw this one, and are perplexed by it. Is it suggesting that RBG would want Trump to get COVID? What was the argument/case she would be presenting? RBG was a lot of wonderful things - petty and vindictive wasn’t one of them (that I was aware of).
I think it’s funny. Pretend RGB “gave” these people COVID — enough to prevent the Republicans from shoving through her replacement, but not enough so that any of them dies.
It’s mildly amusing, no?
The reason people cannot help but think this may be political theatre is mostly his own behaviour.
The real core is he has so discredited the integrity of his entire administration and all of the White House staff, that there is no where to turn for reliable truth. He has repeatedly revealed his fellow republicans as willing sycophants, liars and deniers, and supreme hypocrites.
The back channels, where info would normally be available to reliably confirm such stories, don’t exist because he himself has discredited both himself, and everyone else, so thoroughly.
