Trump-Cruz?

This might be a good place to point out:

Cruz has been keeping a relatively low profile since dropping out of the election, which is good, because his time in the spotlight seems to be responsible for his drop in popularity. According to the pollsters at UT, his approval rating fell from 71% in October 2015 to 55% in June 2016. Granted, that’s still a majority who, for some reason, approve of the job Ted Cruz is doing as senator, but the key here is the drop — in the eight months he spent in the spotlight, his approval rating dropped 16%.

It would be great to dump him from the Senate in 2018 but I’m not getting my hopes up. His plan is probably to continue “working” in that august body where he’s disliked–the general response to getting to know him better. Then present himself as The True Conservative Candidate to save the GOP after Trump’s ignominious defeat…
