Trump has COVID!

I saw it. He was gasping like a fish out of water. He should have left his mask on, it might have been left obvious.

This is interesting-- the Herman Cain timeline. From the Clusterfuck thread:

The Clusterfuck is on steroids now!

Okay, can somebody fill me in on a detail I might have missed?

He took off his mask upon returning to the White House. (The headline I saw said he “ripped” it off.) For a photo op. But did he put it back on after the photo op? (I presume not, of course.)

I’m curious to know when Cain started feeling symptoms and how soon thereafter he went into the hospital. He almost certainly acquired COVID at the Tulsa rally or otherwise in the presence of MAGA supporters. Most articles I’ve seen indicate that symptoms begin typically 3-5 days after exposure. Symptoms can appear later but it’s less common.

If reports I’ve seen are correct,Trump knew he had COVID but resisted going to the hospital. The docs basically laid out a grim scenario for him, which prompted his cooperation. That might have saved his life.

Good grief! In that short video when he walks up the stairs and takes off the mask, he is clearly gasping for breath (and trying not to show it).

a very out of shape man going up two flights of stairs, would be out of breath, even with out covid. looks like his makeup is back.

Hell yes, I’ll have both.

no we wouldn’t.

Ditto. I wouldn’t either and I’m only two years younger than His Doofusness. He was gasping for air-- gulping it in and trying to disguise it.

I’m obviously kidding, he was puffing like a sweaty asthmatic goldfish spilt out of his bowl.

Just give fat, old, out-of-shape men our due is all I’m asking.

I sit corrected. I wonder what his blood ox was just after that.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but if I’m out of breath from exertion, I’m taking deep breaths rather quickly, “huffing and puffing,” as it were. He, as you point out, was “puffing like a sweaty asthmatic goldfish spilt out of his bowl.”

No, I mean he is not right. He’s gasping for air - I’ve had lung problems since birth and I’ve tried to conceal it at certain times (usually out of fear my mother or wife will tell me to see a doctor) and he reminds me of, well, me in that video. He’s keeping his mouth shut. Not speaking a word for fear of coughing. But breathing heavily through the nose and opening his mouth to let in extra oxygen. He’s clearly got some shit deep, deep in his lungs. He’s probably feeling a little light headed, too. He’s in public view for his performance, but he’s very uncomfortable.

The information I’m seeing varies a little from what was posted. He was diagnosed on June 29th and hospitalized on July 1st.

I don’t think he ANNOUNCED any of this until July 2nd.

Oh yeah. I was just having a little fun. When I look at him in that video, I feel reflexively uncomfortable to see him struggling for breath. I want him to take a big honking gulp of wind, but he can’t or won’t. I look at him up there and see my grandfather spending 6 weeks dying of pneumonia. Both stubborn assholes who refused to admit what’s going on until it’s far too late.

Then I go on youtube and watch the bass clarinet choir guy and everything’s OK. Fuck those dumbasses.

Edit: this guy. Honestly we should all probably stop watching the news and go watch him for a while.

gored

That’s exactly what it reminds me of: about a good 2-3 days before the doctor tells me I’ve got severe bronchitis or pneumonia. Haven’t done that in a while - last pneumonia scare about 20 years ago made me wise up a little. But yeah, that’s exactly what I remember when I was more of mule and didn’t want to be ‘nagged.’

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m fine, I’m fine” (as I suck air and walk into another room to cough into my arm to muzzle the sound, getting tired and light headed from coughing).

Maybe we should ask for the Pit’s Clusterfuck thread to be renamed. I’d suggest:

“The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck on Steroids.”

I dunno, I just watched Trump’s performance returning to the White House, and while if I turn my computer sideways and squint just right I can maybe see he’s working hard to control the appearance of huffing and puffing, I think it takes some effort and a soupçon of wishful thinking to say he appeared very out of breath.

However, does that man EVER smile? I imagine if it were Obama returning to the White House after being cleared for a health problem. I’m sure he’d wave at people and, while I’d expect him to maintain a serious air, he’d at least smile a little and look happy to be home and able to get to work. Trump, on the other hand, looks like he’s barely containing his anger at the entire universe.

I’ve often thought about the life lesson embedded that. For a (supposedly) rich guy with the world at his fingertips, he’s just about the most miserably unhappy person I’ve ever seen.
