This has been what I’ve been thinking the whole time. To follow Trump’s logic: “Sure I called that Black man a nigger. But you know, he’s a horrible person, so it’s all good!”

Trump is obsessed with petty feuds and trying to come out on top in every social interaction. Is this a man working hard on mastering all of the responsibilities involved in being president? He sure as hell doesn’t seem to be immersed in geopolitics or domestic economic policy. He spends all of his spare time trying to win a goddamn popularity contest.
A serious candidate would either have dismissed the Machado affair as irrelevant or magnanimously congratulated her on becoming a citizen and wished her well in the future. But obviously the stupid, fat maid had the temerity to question his awesomeness and had to be put in her place.
His instability disqualifies him.
His refusal to release his tax returns means he can’t be vetted by the American people.
He doesn’t have the temperament to be president of the Hair Club of America, much less prez of the USA.
I’m trying to relate all this to the policy issues our country is debating. Rosie O’Donnell was relevant to … what? military intervention in Syria? Where does Alicia Machado fit in? Is she key to the difference between the candidates’ fiscal plans?
All of which would be merely good television in the context of a brash Barnumesque* glitzy-sleazy reality-TV celebrity promoting a beauty pageant. Trump’s fundamental problem is that he’s trying to attain about the most serious, responsible and challenging political position in the world, with no awareness that it really involves anything more than being a brash glitzy-sleazy reality-TV celebrity.
- A comparison that is actually not quite fair to notorious showman P. T. Barnum, who in fact made a pretty decent state- and local-level politician in the CT state legislature and as mayor of Bridgeport.
C’mon, Bricker. Turn it around. Do you think Trump’s “Google it” shenanigans are wise and decent and reasonable actions? If you have a problem with them, what’s the problem?
It looks here like you’re attempting to trick the OP into a slight sloppiness in describing the problem, so that you can attack the sloppiness in describing the problem. But that’s not a reasonable approach. Instead, consider the situation yourself. If you see no problem at all with Trump’s actions here, say so. Otherwise, how would YOU describe the problem?
Here, by the way, is my description: it is never* acceptable to attempt to discredit a person by publicly humiliating them with sexual accusations that describe a legal, sexual act between consenting adults. Silencing through slut-shaming is obnoxious behavior, and it’s what Trump appears to be going for here.

There are porn sites with videos they claim are her, but they are not. But if people go googling for Machado sex tapes, they are likely to go there instead of the real tape.

I was amazed at how easily Hillary jerked Trump around during the debate. She got him talking about Rosie O’Donnell while she was talking about taking away Iran’s uranium! She got him to defend calling a beauty queen fat etc. during a freakin’ presidential debate!!!
