And, with that, I think we’re probably better off with him not kicking the bucket in office. Let the next republican candidates try to campaign with him constantly interfering. He’ll railroad the ones he doesn’t like and “help” the ones he does like. Plus we have to remember, if he dies in the second half of his presidency, we could, potentially, end up with 10 years of President Vance.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be happy to see him gone today, but if he hangs on, his meddling with the next election to right’s detriment is at least a silver lining.
I just hope it’s not on 4th of July, after that he can kick the bucket at any time.

As old as LG is (age 71), the early entries may have been 12 when he met them 50 years ago, but they’re in their 60s now.

But back to the military being ordered to fill out the numbers—there was something approaching a reasonable explanation for them filling out the numbers at the White House Lawn Fight (given that there were storms expected and the likelihood that spectators could have been in at least minor danger of lightning strikes). Maybe it’s the same for tomorrow: let the troops deal with the danger of heatstroke!
But then again: why? Is it important to national security to fake “a crowd” for Donald? Or just important to Donald’s ego?

I might have macabrely thought a large outdoor venue tightly crammed with card carrying/voting MAGA supporters and enablers in stifling conditions without respite and consequently asphyxiating in great numbers might be rather helpful to US national security.
The problem is… even THEY aren’t going to show up.
While I understand where you’re coming from and agree in large part, in light of how much damage Trump can continue doing to the United States, I wonder if that millstone around the Republican necks is worth it. I don’t have a good answer.

If he dies before the November election it’ll draw a sympathy vote that benefits MAGA. Not good.
Don’t discount the idea that Trump bragged about making a long speech in 107 degree heat just to troll enemies who hope he drops dead. His remaining sense of self-preservation won’t allow him to take a major risk.
I think the damage would continue, inflicted more competently, without Trump.
At this point the fascist are closing on the prize, only a truly massive electoral repudiation can slow them.
