That said, he has done so much damage internationally that we ( as a nation ) may never be trusted ever again. The remnants will clutter America like LEGOs left on the floor when your toddlers take a nap. Cleaning them up is essential and stepping on them will hurt… but it will teach us to put the LEGOs away in a box on a very high shelf that is way out of sight.

If he were to suddenly die right this minute, he gets elevated to the status of demigod, and we’re even more fucked than we already are.
Obviously the hardest of the hard core will never allow the veil to be torn away, no matter how long he lingers and suffers. But the longer he clings to a gasping half-life while his minions fret, the more difficult it is to sustain the Trump legend.
I agree with Beckdawreck’s complaint about this thread title being click-bait-y. It gives many people false excitement. Like telling a Lions fan their team has won the Super Bowl when it’s still only the second quarter.
I’ve always found it interesting that Trump has been able to hide his cognitive decline by always being an absolute moron and sounding ridiculous whenever he opens his mouth. So as he becomes more and more demented, he just sounds like a slightly exaggerated version of the person he’s always been. Like, imagine if Obama started talking like Trump tomorrow. We’d all know he had a stroke and suffered brain damage. Because he’s always been an intelligent, well-spoken person and that would be a clean break. But Trump has always been a fucking idiot that spouts nonsense constantly and so his regular personality blends seamlessly into his dementia personality.
I have to say I’m really curious if he lingers around for a while, and becomes increasingly demented, is there any point where his cult will admit he’s lost his marbles, or will they still be talking about how he’s got the best words and any weird shit he says is a secret qanon signal about some amazing hidden problem he’s fixing? Will he be drooling and saying random words and his cult will still be claiming it’s all 4d chess? Is there some point where the cult has to realize that not only is he suffering from full blown dementia, but he has been this entire time, and they didn’t see it because even when he was firing at 100% he was still a fucking lying moron that couldn’t string together two sentences and acknowledge reality?
So I guess if Trump drags on for another year, that’s the only interesting part of it.
I think you need to read the story again. You’re half right, he wasn’t “wrong” about the wolf, rather the boy deliberately lied about the presence of a wolf. He lied with such frequency that when a real wolf appeared nobody believed the boy when he cried wolf. Unless you’re lying here, and I sure don’t think you are, you’re not crying wolf.

I wonder if Trump, like other monarchs, has planned his own funeral. The highest gold gilded catafalque, the glass coffin and Kennedys’ procession followed by the lighting of the eternal flame. The eulogies, the wives, the kids, the Supremes, all scripted.

We’re all dying, it’s just a matter of when. If he does, I’d be tempted to throw a week-long party, but then I look at what we have for a VP, and I’m scared all over again.
I know it’s impossible, but I hope he croaks in such a manner that the conspiracy theories are easily debunked. I mean, being continually subjected to this asshole is tedious enough while he‘s alive. I want him to just be a bad memory, the sooner the better.
For that reason, it won’t surprise me if his own party finds a way to quietly shuffle him off to retirement and install Vance as president. The more he declines, the more embarrassing he gets, the more he, very clearly, has no idea what he’s talking about, the worse it looks. The right can keep showering him with praise, but at a certain point, they know they’re hurting their own credibility by defending all the gibberish he’s spouting.
I read somewhere, and I don’t know if it’s true, that they want to hold off until they make it halfway through the term so Vance can takeover the remainder of the term and still be eligible for two full terms of his own. Like I said, no idea if it’s true, but it sounds plausible.
Personally, I felt the beginning of the end was a few weeks ago when he started bringing big posters to press conferences. I know that’s nothing new, but it seems like he was showing off the posters instead of talking to the cameras. I suppose maybe they were to hide or distract from bruising on his hands, but, at least to me, it looked like someone said “Here’s the posters, Mr President, just show them to the cameras, say ‘look at these beautiful numbers, they’re the greatest numbers anyone’s ever seen’” and walk off stage.
I doubt Trump will die quietly. It has to be spectacular, involving explosions, rioting, and arson.
I remember the MASH episode where a warhawk general died in Margaret’s tent, and the aide wanted to arrange it to look like he died in battle. He called around and couldn’t find any fighting to stage the death. I think Trump’s enablers will attempt a similar staging and fail.
