I’m starting to wonder if we’ll even know if he’s dead. AI videos of Charlie Kirk are being cheered by maga faithful, and they’re fully aware he’s unalive. If Trump strokes out or goes teats up on one of his end-of-month disappearances, how long will they attempt to convince us he’s still breathing by putting together AI videos of him surrounded by people in his cabinet, or clips of him golfing with random ai-generated stooges at his golf courses?
Might be especially effective if he has to bunker up after invoking the insurrection act. And if they keep winnowing down press pools with mostly maga-loyal outlets, it’ll be all the easier to pass off the first AI president. At least until they can figure out a way to stage his actual death as either suspicious or Biblical so they can fire up the rubes to throw their full support behind the next evil POS they decide to prop up.

Every time I see this headline I say to myself, “Not fast enough.”
I get this is not super relevant to the point (yeah Trump is an obese almost octogenarian with a history of hospitalization for Covid, he could drop at any time). But that’s the exact opposite of the moral of the boy who cried wolf. Everyone knew there could be a wolf at some point, a bunch of people got eaten because the boy cried wolf when there wasn’t a wolf. He should not have done that, he got people eaten.
The people who said Bush (snr and jnr) and Reagan and every other right wing (or centrist) US leader was a fascist were not being super prescient and farsighted, by doing so. They were being… well… boys who cried wolf. They lessened the impact of people who rightly said “holy shit, Trump’s a fascist" because of all the times they had said that in the past about other people who were just crappy right wing politicians (and helped spread the idea that everyone’s a fascist in US politics so it doesn’t matter if you don’t vote against this particular fascist). They should not have done that, they got people eaten.
You could make an A version of Trump’s I with an old 486. You wouldn’t even need to turn it on.
