Elaine Miles, an Indigenous actor, alleges that she was stopped by four masked men while she was walking to a bus stop in Redmond. She offered them her ID card from the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Oregon but was told by an ICE agent that “anyone can make that.”

When the men did not believe Miles’ tribal ID, she pointed to a phone number for the Umatilla Tribal enrollment office on the back of the card.
“Call it,” she said.
When they didn’t, she took out her phone to call the office herself, but the agents tried unsuccessfully to take her phone, she said. That’s when a fifth agent in the SUV whistled over, and the agents went back to their vehicles and left.
They probably responded to the ad running on football games advertising the 50k sign on bonus.
This administration doesn’t require credentials or qualifications for attorney general or secretary of defense, to be a clubber of brown heads I bet you just have to ask for it.
Of course, and they get the lowest of the low who have no other job prospects who think it’ll be a blast to get paid to be a “special-ops cop” with power, anonymity, and no oversight. And be paid per person they haul in.
I only recently heard of the Leqembi speculation thanks to @Smapti in another trump thread. trump is clearly mentally unwell. Of course the speculation as to whether he has dementia or his symptoms can be fully explained by rampant malignant narcissism have been endlessly debated since his first term, but he is plainly becoming more confused and erratic, the things he says increasingly nonsensical. If he is being treated for advanced dementia, how much longer can his handlers hide it from the public, I wonder? This video clip is old in terms of trump news, more than two months old, but surprisingly I only recently became aware of it. Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean is buttonholing Mike Johnson, calling trump ‘unhinged’ and saying something has to be done. The things she’s saying are nothing that haven’t been said about trump in media circles thousands of times, but a Congressperson publicly confronting the Speaker of the House about it seems extraordinary. I’m surprised this clip did not get more news coverage at the time (or if it did, again somehow I missed it).
When it happens, hopefully soon, I’ll request that the mods change the title to reflect his status. Although I have a feeling that’s going to be a busy day at the SDMB. So just look for a day where the post count jumps by like a thousand.

Why scammer TV commercials selling false promises via “certificates of silver/gold” and other phony items pretending to be of monetary value are allowed broadcast on TV as if they were fact ( and not scams ) ?
Why “reverse mortgage” scammers are still allowed to advertise?
( Someone I knew who was involved with this scam which targeted the spanish speaking community used to “proudly” say that on his collection calls, his favorite phrase was, “Tu Casa es MI Casa. Comprende…?”
