The answer is yes.
MF, just get on with it
I’d agree except that the line of succession is even scarier.
That’s an awful lot of Nerve Gas…
I’m actually not sure if that line of succession is scarier , for a few reasons. One of which is although I don’t particularly like Vance , he will have to be concerned about being re-elected, which Trump isn’t. Which is why Trump lets people go wild - Hegseth and possibly RFK would already be gone if Trump was worried about being re-elected , Miller seems to be running ICE and maybe telling Trump what’s going on afterward Another is because I don’t think any of them (especially not Vance) have the hold on MAGA that allows Trump to threaten Republicans who don’t do his bidding.
Yes, that’s all plausible.
Sure, but the Alzheimer’s theory is bound to catch people’s attention more than something to do with ‘venous insufficiency.’
A Bad Santa reference is always welcome!
Hey, Kristi Noem is only 18 heartbeats away from the presidency! Actually, I wonder if the Presidential Succession Act is even constitutional.
Vance is a lot more capable than trump. I truly believe that they can fix it so that we’ll “never have to vote again” , as trump suggested before the election. Or that it won’t matter how we vote, because of election fraud.
How much room does that quarry have?
There are legal opinions out there that the inclusion of the Speaker and President Pro Tem is not constitutional because the succession clause (Article 2, Section 1, Clause 6) specifically says Congress may determine what Officer shall act as president, and legislators are not Officers.
Of course it’s never been tested.
Melania looks nice in make-up, albeit in a way that I do not find attractive. Perhaps she gave him some hints before she stopped giving a shit.
Or perhaps after she stopped giving a shit.
Wow…I was well aware what a clown show the current cabinet is, but seeing it laid out so starkly in that line of succession illustration, is indeed pretty terrifying.
I’m not nearly as worried by those clowns, bad as they are. Trump is so dangerous because of the special hold he has on Republican voters. I see no evidence that this special hold would transfer to anyone else. No one had it before Trump (aside, maybe, from Reagan). Every other Republican candidate moderated their messaging because they needed crossover support to win.
Because of that special hold, Trump has a stranglehold on Republican lawmakers, such that a Republican congress is almost an extension of Trump. I think that will all change when Trump is gone. Not that Republicans will suddenly be nice and easy to deal with, but they’ll go back to being more afraid of their electorate and donors than afraid of one man. And that’s much more predictable.
All IMO of course.
Why though? Is it because they see a kindrid spirit? A bigot, a racist and rapist?
These people need to know what they are. I guess they do, and they want a leader of the same.
The first two, for sure. I’m convinced that the main reason trump has such a hold on a certain contingent of the populace is simply that he expresses hate for the same people they hate.
The third one, that may be a bit more complicated. Some trumpers are likely brainwashed into believing it to be ‘fake news’, while others may claim it to be fake news publicly, but in their dark hearts like the fact that he got away with it.
Good lord, that succession image is just, what’s the phrase? A basket of deplorables.
Or a 20-piece bucket of shit.
Trump is going to take advice from arm candy a woman?
And Vance comes across as a smug, whiny guy. I don’t think he can get much of a following outside of a very small subset of MAGA; the young, frat bro guys. Even there, I’m not sure how devoted they’d be.
Even a thumbnail sized gent’s gentitals gets horny from time to time. And small hands do not help that problem.
I can completely understand, at that point, asking a vindictive, disinterested and transaction-based person to.. ah.. argue the terms.
