I did like the various comments that were basically, “They could have taken the T down, at least!”
Here’s a picture posted on CNN earlier under the headline that workers were preparing to remove the Trump name from the center. It shows two “cherry pickers”, which is the appropriate way to lift a worker up to be able to remove the lettering, but … there are two of them, which isn’t necessary, and also scissor lifts that have no apparent purpose, and all these machines left without removing the lettering. And now scaffolding has gone up, which serves no apparent purpose and is not the right way to remove the lettering anyway.
I think one can be forgiven for believing that this is all for show – just delay and diversion tactics being directed by Trump’s minions, and probably on his orders. A very mindless and juvenile thing to do, but what else is new with this man-child? All we need now is assurance that the lettering will be gone “in two weeks”.
Crime scene tape fifteen feet off the ground. I’ll bet whoever owns the lift rental company is posing for ad pictures. MAGAts might get vengeful if they think these guys are the actual removers.
I understand that Republicans enable Trump to disregard court rulings, but is today not the court decreed deadline to clean up the vandalism?

I did not catch the whole thing, but one one of the livestreams, a reporter said the the justice department has asked for a stay pending appeal, and asked for the stay to be expedited, before 7pm ET.

I have clicked on probably five different “live” feeds of this on youtube, and none of them are showing the same scenes. None of which show the name being removed. What a joke.

Barf. If they take Trump’s name down and he’s no longer involved, I’d be happy to make a sizable donation.
The fundraising for Trump is just more grifting .
Since there is a damn good chance they will use the “We don’t work weekends” excuse, I am betting there will be attempts topple the scaffolding in the next couple of days.

The workers have returned. But that scaffolding is bullshit. Who is in charge of this? The Kennedy Center or Trump admin folks? From the angle of this video, it looks like they can’t reach THE DON. Trump would love that troll.

The workers are there now (11:30 PM EDT) and have extended the scaffolding to cover all the letters that they need to remove.

There were delays because of the weather. As I write this (11:09PM central time) they’re working on it, with an appreciative audience.
Yep, the extreme heat was mentioned as a reason the workers had to take breaks.
The feed above in the post from aurora_maire is still active and right now is showing Rep. Beatty being interviewed while I’m watching the interview on MSNOW. So yeah, it’s happening.
