For proof, see today’s victory speech…See how he treated Cruz, Rubio etc. After he beat them to nomination… No bad blood…now, it’s upto you to show a large heart n not be bitter…
So you are saying he lied to all his followers when he said that he would put Clinton in jail-that he will be gracious to her instead?
How about because he’ll be the President, whether you like it or not. All Presidents deserve the benefit of the doubt at first. To deny them that is sour grapes of the most rancid kind.
No, he’s not a good man. He is a bully, a sexist, at best a rude boor and possible someone who has committed sexual assault in the past, vindictive, a grudge-holder, and lacks diplomatic skills.
As we are stuck with him for the next four years I hope that despite his deep flaws he will nonetheless be an effective president and doesn’t do anything too damaging or embarrassing.
He might become a good president. I do not regard him as a good person. I am not obligated to like someone I find repulsive.
“That dog is bad-tempered and snaps at anything that moves, barks at everything and everybody and has destroyed the living room furniture over and over again…but let’s leave him alone with the children because all dogs deserve the benefit of the doubt.”
We have 50 years of recorded history concerning Trump to help us grade these grapes-this isn’t any kind of “snap judgement”.
edited to add: We are supposed to put good people into office-not put bad people in and use it as a rehabilitation program. In rehab programs they don’t give the patients the run of the place.
… Not to mention that Congressional Republicans didn’t seem inclined to give Obama any respect whatsoever from his first day in office.
That’s all immaterial. Obama’s policies costed 300k+ human lives in Syria.
This is ALOT .many people may not realise. For ex. 1 czarcasm = 1 truthseeker = 1 human life. Now add this to Itself about 300k times. This is the number of people killed in syria partially due to Americas policy. Assad >> Obama, Hillary.
I’m asking you nicely; stop talking about things you’ve repeatedly shown yourself to know nothing about. Please. Do everyone that courtesy.
Well, he is a very stupid, very selfish, egotistical, cruel, dishonest, cheating, abusive, dangerous lunatic with childish views on politics, but apart from that… he’s also an irritating disgusting lump of cold porridge.
Nope, sorry, he deserves no benefit of the doubt from me.
The only one who caused the civil war in Syria is Assad. Sending in U.S. forces would have split the U.S. and would have just resulted in Americans dying too. Iraq has shown us that a civil war cannot be contained when it is driven by very deep-seated ethnic/religious differences and neither side is willing to work politically with the other. At best, it can only be temporarily suppressed. Despite being a superpower, the U.S. is not all-powerful.
If the U.S. launched strikes or an invasion in 2013/2014 after the credible and mostly confirmed reports of chemical weapons being used and actually toppled Assad, the civil war would likely have simply continued, just as it has off-and-on in Libya. Only now Da’esh could spread even further west into even more populated areas of Syria without regime forces standing in their way.
Fuck him and the first slut. A trashier pair never tarnished our image so badly.
War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.
Anyone remotely in contact with reality knows that these statements are the exact opposite of the truth. Trump was elected because he’s a lying jackass, because he’s an illiberal vindictive sociopath.
Is you name, truthSeeker2, some kind of joke?
Based solely on his own words and actions, i.e. not those of his opponents, he is not honest and is extremely vile.
The best we, the people of the world, can hope for is that he will be a do-nothing president.
Trump is too unfiltered and says things that many other people just silently think, and probably feel bad about themselves for even thinking.
Trump may say these things but I say judge him by his actions not just his words. Even if he spouts off extreme views, hopefully his actual actions will be more moderate. A lot of Republicans don’t like him either, so he’s got that going for him.
You really have a problem sticking with topics and answering questions directly, don’t you? What the holy fuck does your response have to do what we were talking about?
Out of respect for the office of President I would like to start over with him and wait for him to start being an ass again.
I can still be upset with the results because I think many of his positions are stupid. Oh, and I’m still angry with people who voted for him because of reasons like “Hillary is a criminal” or “She killed people!” without looking at issues.
Let’s say with mass adoption of solar energy and electric vehicle, climate change issue is tackled and world (oil) trade is reduced …then their is no incentive to make wars etc. , No need to build consensus on emissions etc…the role of US President becomes less important…it will again be science and technology to the rescue, not the lying and deceitful media and politicians…
What doubt?
I have not been as afraid for our country since 9/11.
Uh, you are going to fantasy land if your point here is about Trump doing that.
You did not pay attention to what he said.
This is nonsense.
After defeating both Rubio and Cruz, Trump continued to malign them–until they bowed to the RNC wishes and went groveling to him to offer endorsements. Today’s speech has no bearing on how Trump treated those who disagree with him, only how he is willing to make conciliatory gestures if they beg his forgiveness.
I am not posting with sack cloth and ashes or rending my garments at Trump’s victory, but I see no reason to ignore statements that are diametrically opposed to facts.
Now, I would hope that in victory, Trump will change his personality and do what you claim for him, however, my point was that you claimed that his personality was already inclined in that direction, but a brief reference in a single victory speech is hardly enough evidence to counter this sort of story:
In final days, Trump is obsessed with vengeance, kept away from Twitter by staff
Trump is on record as declaring “If you do not get even, you are just a schmuck!”
