Just the other day, CNN spokesmodel and wanna-be political king-maker, Jake Tapper, via an internet hookup, told Trump about some group claiming that David Duke supports Trump. Trump replied, "I have to look at the group. I mean, I don’t know what group you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them. And certainly I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.
“You may have groups in there that are totally fine and it would be very unfair. So give me a list of the groups, and I’ll let you know,”
It sounds to me as if Trump didn’t understand which group(s) Tapper had originally mentioned or why they were saying Duke endorsed Trump. A real reporter would have investigated the situation before pressing ahead with his political diatribe. Trump asked for a list of the groups Tapper was referring to. Clearly, there was a miscommunication over this internet connection that the CNN viewing audience wasn’t subjected to. Did Tapper ever supply Trump with the name of the group who claimed Duke endorsed Trump? Or doesn’t it matter?
Trump had previously denounced the KKK and he denounced the KKK after the Trapper debacle. When it became clear what Tapper was asking. All of what Tapper had been asking.
But Tapper and CNN had the sound bite they needed. Move along, move along. No clarification needed.
