So far he’s backtracked on immigration deportation, Gay rights being curtailed (some backtrack) wants to keep some of obamacare…and yet the wolves will NEVER stop howling at his door. The Republicans are slobbering over this. They will find some way to get rid of him. I’m telling you the Trump you saw in the run up is not the Trump that would be president.
And you are going to be sorry sorry sorry to have a President Pence.
I’m not saying Trump will be great, I’m just trying to shed some light on how he’s not a fucking psychopath and he’s going to be genuinely confused why people don’t like him when he’s trying to placate the left.
(If you believe him…and i do) He protected Bajor from some reprisals. And said that a different ruler would have been much much more harsh than he would have. This seemed to embolden the Bajorans and probably helped contribute to Bajor getting their planet back (My personal head canon was that the Feds demanded it but let the Bajorans believe they kicked the Cardassians off…yeah right)
But the main analogy I wanted to make was throughout the series how befuddled Dukat was that the Bajorans couldn’t see him as a protector of Bajor. Dukat lived for approval.
As for the Alpha Quadrant…yeah he went off the rails and ended up embracing full evil.
Frankly, you’re not making any sense at all. You’re just trying to convince others of your wishful thinking.
The same goes for your other idea that Republicans will impeach Trump.
As for the few people who predicted Trump would win, well, either he would win or he wouldn’t. Among millions of predictions of anything, it’s virtually certain a few will get it right. Even Scott Adams hedged a bit.
If his election behavior was just a show to get elected, and he is in fact a considerate person with empathy - a person who can work with others as a team to get things accomplished. A person who can follow rules/laws…
Then that would be wonderful and I would wish him the best. Washington DC is broken and it would be great if someone could fix it. (You HAVE to work with other people to get that done though!)
Unfortunately I do not see him taking any steps to diffuse the nasty situation in this country. Not looking good. He is being more realistic about some of his campaign promises - a positive direction…
This is not an unreasonable hypothesis. He said what he needed to say, in order to get a bunch of disgusted and selfish fear-mongers to vote for him, but people like Jesse Ventura and Al Franken turned out to be serious politicians who worked hard to reach reasonable compromises. In fact, shining lights in an era of discreditable politicians.
We’ll have to wait and see. Nevertheless, as a candidate, he gave us no reason to think or even hope that he would turn out to be anything more than a bull in a china shop.
Trump will remain president until he has fixed trade deals and tax laws to benefit his bottom line. That’s the ONLY reason he ever wanted the office. Then, god help us, it’s President Pence.
Am I the only one that prefers president Pence? I wouldn’t feel too bad with him in charge. I don’t like him or his policies, but he seems far more sane, level headed and emotionally stable than Trump.
A religious nut is vastly superior to an emotionally fragile narcissist.
We have no choice but wait and see, but he can change his mind every day. I don’t expect to see same-sex marriage change, but I do expect that states will nibble away at abortion rights with the court’s approval until they are effectively gone.
So, he’ll play transparently, but affably, evil for a while, then start on a redemption arc, which he’ll abandon halfway through, eventually becoming a literal demon?
I was willing to cut him a tad bit of slack, as nobody wants a Pence presidency. But then he gave uber-racist Bannon a powerful White House position and is seriously considering Giuliani as SecState. This shows a lack of critical thinking, a lack of empathy, and outright laziness, all of which will likely doom this administration.
That’s pretty much it. Whenever a Democrat gets elected I hope they were telling the truth about their plans, and when a Republican get elected I hope they were lying. The more Trump backtracks on his promises the better I like it.
