We’ve been assured by Mr Trump’s personal gastroenterologist that his recent complete medical examination “showed only positive results” and that his “laboratory test results were astonishingly excellent”. And in Dr Bornstein’s opinion, Mr Trump “will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
Surely Dr Bornstein was being astonishingly accurate when making that critical assessment?
Trump the chump. Now companies can get their taxes cut for sending a thousand jobs to Mexico, simply by announcing that they plan to send 2000 jobs to Mexico, and then letting Trump make his hard-nosed deal. Now the swamp is drained, because all the Goldman Sachs execs are in the cabinet.
And as a veteran, I can’t wait for Sarah Palin to straighten things out at the VA (I hope that was just a very stupid trial balloon, but you can’t count anything out with Trump the Chump).
All true. He was always “that guy”… the one nobody likes or respects, the guy they all talk shit about behind his back, the guy they laugh at because his business skill revolves around cheating, stealing and going bankrupt (again and again). No style no class. He never had any, he never will.
He certainly played the role of sore winner last night with his attack on the “unfair press”. I suppose the aim is to immunize his popularity from future disclosures of his misdealing and mishandling the affairs of state.
Holy shit. Is he deliberately trying to divide the country even worse than it is already? Isn’t this the time he should be calming the waters, not riling up the troops? This seems more like one of his vicious campaign rallies, but I’m wondering what end result he is going for here.
If this ridiculous rallying continues at this pace, what might the end result be? Already there are revivals of “Jail Hillary!” chants and Trump shouting about the “Lying Press”, and I am honestly worried about how far he is willing to go to keep the level of adulation up.
In a word, adoration. Ever been on stage? Even if your only line “Lady Parsnips, your carriage awaits.”, for that moment, you are the focus of attention. For some people, its like the ant in the magnifying glass sunlight, except endorphins. Trump has always been an attention whore.
How many here have actually endured say, twenty, thirty minutes of a Trump rally speech? Its improv, he wanders about dropping bomb lines, he’s talking about immigration, then spots something shiny over there about taxes, so he stops dead in his tracks, and then jumps.
Did anyone else see him and the crowd when he was delivering his condemnation of hatred and bigotry? The crowd delivered a smattering of applause and waited for it to be over. Then it was over and Trump was back. Then it was over and he was back spreading horseshit like Johnny Applesauce.
So, now you can’t say Trump supports racism and bigotry because he is on record condemning that. There, right there, see?! And here, right here among the smartest and hippest people on the planet, there are people eating that sewer soup with a big-ass spoon, “MMM-mmm, good!”
(My beloved son, the Err Apparent, dropped a line about how he likes the idea that you have to be the change you want to see, but has no idea how to become an asteroid. Not my line, mind you, but I am what literary critics call a seminal influence.)
That’s because the press has finally and far too late decided to call him a liar when he is lying, which is most of the time. The NYT has been dissecting his cabinet picks with a will, and the op-ed writers have got material for a decade already. I’m sure that staff researchers are busy unearthing all the skeletons that these billionaire buddies of Trump (BOTs) have buried over the years.
I’m more curious than worried. At campaign and post-election rallies, what he gets is not just attention but positive attention, adulation. Presidents in office don’t usually have that as part of their daily or even weekly experience. They get attention, sure, but the reality is that they often get more negative than positive attention. I think he may try to build rallies into his schedule during his presidency, but once he is president, it may be difficult to restrict his audiences to those who love him.
No it won’t. Anyone who says (or even hints of) anything negative about Dear Leader during one of these rallies will be beaten by security and thrown out. Or worse.
