Trump Splashback Hits Bush

Well, you would know better than most what happens if you try to defend sexual assault around here.

Let’s call it a tie. At least the chimp never said anything stupid and embarrassing.

The show is already going downhill fast with Carson Daly and the orange room let’s-see-what’s-trending crap, but at least Carson is likeable and not dumb as a box of rocks. More Matt & Savannah, please.

Why can’t you get it in your head that HE CAN BE BOTH!! He is a horny rich guy. And I think the evidence indicates he is (or has the tendency to be) a sexual predator.

I played sports in high school, and then played 4 years of Division 1 baseball in college. Lots of long bus rides, lots of idle time with “guys being guys”. Sure some pretty lewd things were said, no doubt. But if anyone had casually discussed raping or sexually assaulting a woman, they would have been shunned at best, and, I’d like to think, reported to the coach.

Real men don’t talk like this, narcissistic assholes do. If you’ve been hanging around men who talk this way, you need to find a better class of friends. It IS NOT the norm.

Jesus H Christ! This is not that fucking hard.

But who’ll cover the parade…? Who’d have that same arrogant smirk?
I mean… you can’t just shove a lacrosse stick up David Spade’s ass and call him Billy Bush…

I’d happily trade out Matt for more Carson. Lauer’s a smug asshole.

Or maybe ever.

I’m not complaining about Carson. He seems like a stand-up guy and people really seem to like him, unlike what I hear of Bush. As much as I hate to admit it, I enjoyed watching him on TRL back in the MTV days. It’s the interactive format that doesn’t work for me, and the focus on what’s hot today. They are trying too hard to be a more hip, fun show, IMO, and with the death of daytime TV, staying on at least an hour too long.

That might put to bed the “This is a Bush conspiracy” theory. But probably not.

It can be incredibly lewd.

Here’s a hint. The problem with Trump wasn’t that he used the word “pussy”. Substitute “vagina”, “vulva”, “girlie parts” etc., and it’s still deplorable.

You mean the woman who attended Stanford University and Oxford University and graduated with a BA in history with honors, a Masters in International Relations, and a PhD in International Relations?

By this standard I’ve been raped by women. Though I don’t consider it assault. I don’t think a woman has ever asked me for permission to kiss, fondle me, or perform oral. I have received such contact and usually been appreciative after the fact. In the rare case when I wasn’t, I didn’t call the cops. A simple rejection (though that usually causes rage) is sufficient. I don’t mean to imply that women are constantly throwing themselves at me. I’ve been celibate (and married) for awhile, but I can’t recall a single sexual encounter that involved a sexual consent contract as portrayed on Chapelle’s Show, and all my sexual encounters were initiated by women.

Trump takes down another Bush! These are the consequences he was talking about when he warned about candidates for the Republican nomination not fulfilling their pledge to support the nominee, Jeb(!)!

I suspect there are thousands of people with similar educational credentials graduating every year. How many of them get hired by NBC at $600,000 a year, plus $300,000 a year as a board member of Barry Diller’s IAC/Interactive Corp? You don’t seriously expect us to believe that she was hired into these positions and given these salaries based solely or primarily on the merits of her education, do you?

Speaking of which, somebody posted this to Facebook tonight, and despite the fact I like Jeb I have to admit it made me chuckle a bit.

Having not heard the audio, did Bush sound like he was giving a nervous chuckle like holy shit I can’t believe this guy is saying this, or was it like he was carrying on and completely agreeing with Trump? I feel the tiniest bit bad for the guy if it was the former and not the latter, it sounds like he would have been screwed either way and he was relatively unknown then and probably didn’t want to bring it up to his bosses and make waves. Sometimes you get stuck in a situation that you can’t come out of it unscathed no matter what.

I for one cannot rest until.we know what Sarah Palin thinks of these latest developments.

This isn’t “guy talk” or “locker room talk”. This is someone bragging about sexual assaults that actually occurred.

I go swimming several times a week. In the locker room, no one has ever said anything remotely like this.

The last time I heard someone I knew say something inappropriate about a woman was over 20 years ago. And that was “merely” offensive and wrong. Several orders of magnitude less than what Trump said.

The only person I ever knew that said something on the scale of Trump (and that wasn’t about past actions but future plans) was when I was a kid. And I wouldn’t be surprised if that kid has spent most of his adult life in jail (assuming he isn’t a millionaire and bought his way out).

How could BB not be horrified by this? How could any reasonable person not be?

No, it wasn’t nervous chuckle at all. In fact, he capped it off by inviting the woman Trump was oggling to give Trump a hug like some kind of groper pimp.

Sounded like a little of both to me. “Holy shit,” during the worst part of Trump’s statements but also kinda vicariously amused that Trump could do that.
