Red states are fighting to get this now . I would think Florida gets it , Texas or Georgia might too.

Miami probably would OK it. Lots of conservatives there. Also St. Pete has a lot of retirees and they won’t mind it.
Retirees who, due to being older, are more vulnerable to COVID-19. I suspect that quite a few of them would be less than happy about a mass gathering in their backyard.
My suspicion is that it’ll wind up in Vegas.
Hopefully their former motto will apply to both the virus and to the attendees.
Unfortunately, I would guess for any of the candidate locations there are enough unemployed workers who would be willing to take the risk of staffing a Convention, that labor would not be a factor in whether to host or not.

West Virginia’s governor said Trump was welcome there. In fact, he said every former president would be welcome there. Well, except for one.
I hope not. The wife and I want to make it to Vegas next year after being stymied this year. They’re apt to end up closing Vegas for keeps if the convention lands there.
Trump is creating an electoral map problem for himself. If I were in his camp, I’d probably be choosing between Florida and Georgia - maybe somewhere in the Jacksonville area. If you’re Trump, you want to keep those two states.
But if you have your convention in JAX, then you campaign like hell in OH, PA, WI, NC, and AZ. Michigan is probably gone at this point.
Every time he opens his mouth he is probably losing voters. Some of his previous fans may stay home rather than vote for Biden.
