He will probably be relatively hinged by Trump standards. He can still read and this will just be a teleprompter speech. He saves his most unhinged for when he doesn’t follow a script.
The morning news called it a ‘rare’ thing. And prime time addresses from the White House are historically unusual. But this is the 3rd? 4th? one so far this year? He’s on pace to do more in the space of less than a year than most manage across an entire 4 year term
He’s famous for going off-script, though. And I am guessing he’s angry about a lot of things right now - in particular, I think he was fantasizing that the 250th anniversary celebrations were going to culminate in a show-stopping, two-hour speech heard live by millions, wildly applauded, and universally acclaimed, followed by mass acknowledgement that he deserves to be president for life.
Now, he can blame weather, the Deep State, etc. for the fact that didn’t happen, but I bet he still has a lot of pent-up desire to give the biggliest GOAT of a speech ever. So he’ll go off-script for sure. The only question is, how recklessly and appallingly?

The written speech he’s supposed to read will be the result of him spitting out stream-of-consciousness thoughts and grievances, having the most unhinged ones ignored, and whatever can be salvaged translated into correct English by speechwriters.
How unhinged this will be will depend on how much nonsense he insisted be kept, and of course whether he goes off-script.
I won’t be watching but I’ll be interested in reports of how badly he injured himself and the inevitable fact-check, aka “the count of lies”. CNN can usually be relied on for a decent fact-check. Fox News will be reporting on the effusive praise from Republican toadies.

Why wouldo he be terrified ?
To be afraud of anything politcal* , he would have to be able to understand that his actions have consequences, which he then has to take responsibility for.
But can he think so deeply? He probably doesnt even know how many representatives there are in Congress, or how many votes he needs. He just makes proclaimations, signs executive orders, and assumes that, as king, his will must be carried out.

Because I believe even his simple reptilian brain understands in some vague sense that he’s really been pushing (and exceeding) the limits of presidential power, to the point that even the toadies on the Supreme Court have rebuked him, and that an empowered Congress could do a lot to rein him in and even impeach him.
Now that 2 GOP senators are dead (well 1 is dead, the other is weekending as Bernies) supposedly he is going to try to get both Georgia senators removed to regain a bigger margin in the senate.
I have no idea how the legality works. Luckily the president saying ‘this senator is illegitimate’ doesn’t mean much. I have no idea how a senator is actually removed under false pretenses.
People need to go to prison for this. if people don’t go to prison for this, it’ll just keep happening. Biden putting that fucking pussy Garland in charge was one of his biggest mistake. Lots of people needed to rot in prison after Trump’s first term, including Trump.
I’d like to see the Senate wake up. They’re the only ones who can do anything. The Cabinet can’t do anything. They know that without trump, they would fade into nothingness like Marty’s siblings.
I wouldn’t be completely shocked if he went off script but that’s not what he has done in the past. He has had prepared speeches before and just stuck to the teleprompter. He is much different when it’s just him and a camera. If he was playing to an audience it would be different. I’m expecting him to stick to the script. He’s still gonna say horrific things and made up facts but it will be scripted. Thats my guess anyway.
I am unhappy that the only baseball on tonight is the Mets so I’ll have to find something else to occupy my time.
