As far as I can tell when it comes to this administration, the “leave it alone and the problem will solve itself” approach almost never works, and yet this lazy and standoffish approach seems to be advocated too damn much by too many people.
He won’t be quiet until he passes away, and even then I won’t count on it.
The point has been made by other posters that Trump is simply a symptom of a much deeper disease that exists in the American body politic. Racism, hatred, and authoritarianism did not begin with Trump.

If Trump dies of a massive coronary tomorrow (please?) I’ll be ecstatic, but that’s not going to get rid of the Stephen Millers, Steve Bannons and opportunistic boot lickers like JD Vance, Pam Bondi, and Kristi Noem that we have living among us. It’s also not going to get rid of The Proud Boys. It’s not going to get rid of the Oathkeepers. It’s not going to get rid of the KKK.
This “Board of Peace” is it just another manifestation of Trump’s narcissism and need to be the center of attention at all times. It’s also another grifting opportunity clearly. It’s nothing and it’s not going to go anywhere and it’s not going to have a long-term legacy. It is not going to be the new UN. And I’d be very surprised if it even merits a footnote in history books 100 years from now when barrels upon barrels of ink are spilled trying to understand how we lost our way so badly in the early portions of the 21st century. And that’s if a recognizable political entity known as the “USA” even exists by then.

I just got done watching Death by Lightning, the assassination of Garfield. The last half of the last episode covering his lingering death was hard to watch.
