Good morning.
It’s 61F and partly cloudy at the moment. The forecast calls for partly to mostly cloudy skies, a very slight chance of a rain shower late morning, and a daytime high of 67F.
Nellie, I actually did not know that hunting was allowed in the refuge. I have been there, and it’s quite a lot of walking, especially if you go all the way out to the end of the boardwalk and walk the entire interior. I looked up this year’s hunting brochure and see that it is allowed on the south side of the delta (below all those expensive homes) and where the river meets the Sound. Frankly, I don’t know why anyone would want to eat those ducks, since they taste fishy because of their diet. I know this from experience. In the early 70s, that area was not a refuge. My dad hunted ducks there, and we ate them. They were awful. It makes me sad that hunting is allowed there; there are plenty of other places to hunt for wildfowl.
Also, @nelliebly, I hope the docs can figure out what is going on with your son.
Johnny, I don’t blame you for hanging up. I most certainly would have done the same.
Boofae, you would think that Special Student would be glad this exam and possibly schooling was over, and just move on. Sounds like she thinks she did poorly and is going to use the room as an excuse.
FCM, I hope all your errands go to plan.
Yesterday did not go as planned for me. My husband was insistent that we go to Black Bear to eat because he wanted chicken-fried steak and country gravy. I am not a fan of that place. The one near me almost always has bad service, and their food is just not that impressive (to me).
Sure enough, it took forever to even get a waiter to our table so we could order. I ordered a BLTA and fries, and my husband got his chicken-fried steak, mashed potatoes, and a salad. I forgot what his other side was. Anyway, the waiter brought our drinks, but no straws, and when we finished eating, he wanted to give us refills on our drinks (strawberry lemonade), which should have been offered before we were done. We are disappointed every time we go, yet my husband insists on going. I tried to steer him to a different place, but he can be muleishly stubborn. ![]()
Before we went to eat, we picked up the dogs’ prescriptions at Costco, then drove to lunch. After, we went to PetSmart to pick up doggy ice cream.
I wanted to knock out everything in the morning, but he insisted on leaving later, so by the time we returned, it was pretty dang hot and a little humid outside. I had no desire to get out and work in that.
Today he wants to ride the Foothills Trail, so I guess we’ll do that. Tomorrow, we have his appointment with the optometrist. And, I still need to get out and visit my mother, too.
Okay, time to get on with the day. Please take care of yourselves.
