They’re my opinions. I quite like them. That’s why I have them. They matter, as would any forum for their expression. Everything is “just” what it is. Your bills don’t get paid: life goes on. Mothers and sons have died, and life goes on. Whether life would go on or not has never been in question. And it surely says nothing about anything’s relevance. The reason life goes on is because things do matter, not because they don’t. Plenty will stay, and some will go. But not because it doesn’t matter.

I’ve already decided I am not resubscribing. Not so much to make a point, though i hope a point is taken, but rather, i view this as a colossal waste of time and money. As w/ any message board ‘community’, you feel like it’s family and now i’ve come to realize that it’s anything but.

I was originally enamoured by the idea of “fighting ignorance”, but that is not the true motive of the members and mod’s here. Rather it is to promote the hate mongering propaganda and self-pandering name calling and idea bashing of anyone who doesn’t agree with the accepted views as stated as law by the SDMB Administrators.
While i’ve found the GQ section to be very useful and informative and even entertaining at times, it simply isn’t worth PAYING for. If i pay for it, i expect full benefits from my membership. Not being forced salute: “Hail, Tuba” and/or kiss Dex’s ass w/ extra tounge to keep a thread from being closed.
Now i know there’ll be many of the militants who’ll say: "Quit whining and leave. I just googled her member name, and this info comes up on the first page - titled **name and address ** - you don’t even have to click a link to get it. It seems to me that to have this information prominently displayed on Google under her user name, TD must’ve put it out there herself. This is a rather different situation from the info she posted on LJ which started the ‘recent unpleasantness’ [as it has been so coyly referred to].
I suspect this is an ironic question meant as a comparison to what Tuba did. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks what Tuba did was not wrong. Most of the disagreement stems from her punishment, (or lack of it, depending on your point of view); the irony, therefore, was misplaced.
My asshole’s just fine, but thanks for asking! I didn’t throw accusations at any newbie; rather, I asked a question, which he answered. So I guess you do have reading problems. And I didn’t say his opinion doesn’t matter because he’s new–other people accused me of saying that, and you just got confused.

This is exactly my thoughts on the matter. Not a single shred of data that was posted in LJ was entrusted to the SDMB by the banned poster in the first place.
If Tuba had gone into the SDMB’s database to even double check her research, that’s a banning offense. The only reason the SDMB has anything to do with is is that the involved parties are members.
You do not get a magical cloak of anonymity by agreeing to a privacy policy. What you get is an agreement to keep any information you give them private. Information that is publicly available is public.
Frankly, if I ran this board, I would have just hammered this point home, the information you provided is safe and was never accessed for any inappropriate purpose. Information you put out publicly on the internet, that’s your problem, not mine, I have zero responsibility to keep that a secret.
