Yes, that’s exactly what I said. That you were the meanest, and the first person. Aren’t your arms tired? That cross has to be heavy. As for looking for you: I expected you to have been the OP. It was a refreshing surprise to find someone beat you to it.
Oh, fercryinoutloud, Maureen, are you actively trying to get her started, or what? Catsix hasn’t even posted in this thread, and her comments in the ATMB thread were quite restrained. Posting snide comments about her only serve to give her a reason to get all wound up, and everybody knows it. So why do you have to stir the turd?

Part of what you said originally was lost by the quote function, but you asked me if I knew any of the parties involved. Since my post is about TubaDiva being given administrator rights after her off-board violation of policy, the only people I see as being involved are TubaDiva and the board administration.
I think I know what you are getting at, though. No, I do not know the poster she banned, or the poster he was supposedly trying to molest. I agree that it was in the board’s best interests to ban a known sex offender if there is any suspicion he may be trying to groom underage board members, and to notify the authorities. But I don’t think anyone is complaining about the banning, they are upset that TubaDiva is being allowed back after such blatant disregard of the privacy policy of this message board. Even if whatsisface was found totally guilty of the accusation and was already locked up and in jail, TubaDiva’s actions would not be justified.

I posted once. I was mistaken about the 30 days, and said that I had learned how easy it is to find information about people even if they are not an RSO. That’s all I said.
So, I haven’t shrieked, and there’s certainly no reason to liken me to a turd. Unless there’s something wrong with returning fire at someone who’s deliberately being snarky to you.

I have been a part of this message board since the AOL days. TubaDiva was there before I came in, and she was working her ass off for the board. I don’t know if it would have survived without her. A month ago, she screwed up in a spectacular way, and she was suspended.
Now, how do I feel about her return? I’m glad she’s back. She has shown her remorse for her mistake. She has earned my respect over the years. I’m willing to forgive somebody I respect that much.

People, you can like her all you want. I don’t think she is some evil witch. She has just shown that she shouldn’t be the Admin. She should just be a longstanding and clearly loved member. Simple.
I think she’s done nothing of the sort.

Funny, and here I thought I just wanted all the cries for blood and justice and handwringing over our safety :rolleyes: to be done with so we can get on with our lives. I realize some people have difficulty letting go when they smell blood in the water, but damn. Will your world really come to an end just because it wasn’t handled the way you wanted it to be?
And unlike when they put people on trial for diddling little kids, the government is not under any obligation to provide anyone with a lawyer for a civil suit. Hence, whatsisname is going to have to find a lawyer willing to take on a case representing a convicted child molestor in an invasion of privacy suit where the defendant is judgment-proof,* has to be sued in a foreign state, and is accused of invading the convicted child molestor’s privacy by identifying him as a registered sex offender with reference to a sex offender registry whose express purpose is to identify such persons to the public. Fat chance of that happening.
*I’m assuming here, Tuba. If you’re really rolling in the dough (as opposed to just coffee mugs and signed photos of Uncle Cecil) allow me to forward my business card.

How far would you be willing to stretch that mentality? I’m not happy that Kerry didn’t win, but I don’t let it affect my life outside of politics. Same goes for TubDiva and the SDMB.
No, I’m not saying you’re a turd, Catsix. It’s a figure of speech I picked up from a David Sedaris essay that means going out of one’s way to make a potentially bad situation worse. I was simply referring to her kvetching about your tendency towards being rather excitable about certain subjects, while at the same time throwing out stuff that she knows good and well is liable to get you excited. If she thinks you’re going to get all het up, it seems like the least she could do is not throw fuel on the fire.
Well, remember Maureen, we are talking about an administrator of the SDMB. It’s not like we’re discussing some piddly little beaureucrat like the Secretary General of the UN, the United States President, or the Pope. This is important.
