Please don’t feel any pressure to do so - I mentioned a while ago that there’d be some effort like this separate from the one Ed started, and it just wouldn’t be right to mess with that after the fact.
I heard back from Ed, and the answer is what I expected it to be. Moving funds from one to the other is not possible, which renders the discussion about whether it should happen or not irrelevant. It can’t be done.
Those who wish to contribute to the family fund are of course welcome to do so.

I suspect that many would only want to give once in Tuba’s name. But that’s ok, everyone who wanted to will have donated, and you probably picked up some who saw that other fund had well and truly exceeded its goal and held off.
The other issue is that the OP really hasn’t made the case that the family need the money.
I’m usually a fairly cynical person, but that’s a low I refuse to stoop to.
If you don’t want to or cannot take part, that’s fine - we’ve all got our own stories, and our own problems. But don’t sit there and demand a means test for a voluntary expression of basic human decency
