TubaDiva (or, i can't believe i was that dim)

I’d actually read her name for years as TunaDiva, and ‘heard’ it as Tuna Diver. (Well, you would, wouldn’t you? It’s not like TunaDiva makes any sense.)

This went on for a couple of years, until my attention was brought to it in a similar thread to this one. Until then, I’d assumed ‘he’ was a commerical fisherman. :smack:

I’ve got the Tuba bit down pat now, but I still ‘hear’ the second bit as ‘diver’…

i still miss those sharks

Can you imagine diving down through the crystal waters complete with brass section? Can’t you just see the bubbles?

le sigh

Yes, only it’s two syllables and the first rhymes with “beer.” The second sounds like “shuh.” You very very very close.

That’s too hard for me. Is “soo-zee” OK?

You know I won’t be able to hear you anyway, right?

I swear I remember reading that your humble TubaDiva does indeed play the tuba.

[genuine awe] Man, you’re good.[/awe]

I posted this earlier but it must have disappeared in the Ether.

Obscure is **Rigellian ** for Great, didn’t you know that?

Jim the Tellurian

i apologise from the bottom of my heart but i mentally pronounce your nick as ‘Sair Arse’.

I really need to get out of the BDSM mindset

I think your name was the Campfire Girls Motto. No, that was WoHeLo.

I was surprised that people misinterpret my name.Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse

You can say mine that way, if you want.

And I’m glad that my username makes you smile, What Exit!

I noticed a **Nivlac ** running around also, same affect.

[Comic Book Guy Voice] Best Comic strip Ever!! [/CBGV]

Jim

Of all the ways I could come by a sair arse, I guess that’s the best.

Hello? Is this thing on? Hello?

Der Trihs is a character in a webcomic called Schlock Mercenary, but I never noticed until just now that it’s “Red Shirt” spelled backwards. :putz:

I gues you could count me as one of those. My daughter is a nurse in a Neurological ICU (NICU) and she sometimes talks about things that happened in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) so I assumed that your username referred to that. What does it mean?

Back to the OP, In the intellectual part of my brain I know that the last part of dear Tuba’s name is pronounced dee-va, but my eyes always see it the other way.

I think that I have heard the term “scuba diver” often enough that I try to make TubaDiva fit with ScubaDiver.

You mean I have been giving him the benefit of the Doubt for being a trekkie when he is only the fan of a trekkie?

I might have to reread his posts and take retroactive offense.

Next **eleanorigby ** will tell me she isn’t even a **Beatles ** Fan.

Jim

If I saw someone with the handle TunaDiver, I would not think it was a he or a fisherman. But I applaud your innocence; it’s not always easy being this sick.

Thank you for taking the sick trip with me. That’s exactly what I thought.

I figured out Eleanor Rigby right off, but sometimes it reminds me I never saw the movie Igby Goes Down. :smack:
