TubaDiva (or, i can't believe i was that dim)

<------- A woman with a bulldozer. (My favorite song, Celyn)

I’ll bet Lobsang’s the only other person on here who can pronounce my username correctly.

Crap, that arrow didn’t work at all. Make that ‘a woman who should preview with a bulldozer.’

But a bulldozer that won’t kill minotaurs. So do I win?

Happy, happy.

YBeayf Wild guess time - might your username turn into a feminist sort of plaint to the effect of “why be a wife”?

Happy. All the damn time.

koeoaddi

*hands an e to Celyn

Second thought, I don’t want an “E”, thank you, 'cos then I’d have people thinking I was a ceiling or a Celine, not a “kellin”.

Other names - one I always read - well, internally “hear”, wrongly is that of Qadgop the Mercotan. I’m not familiar with whatever mightily famous book the name comes from, so I still hear it in my head as “Quagdop”. Sorry. And I do realise that my version makes no sense at all. :smack:

Sigh. You’re not the first one who’s thought that. It’s Manx, and I’m male.

I always read it as ‘Yibbiff’.

When I read ‘koeeoaddi’ I just filter out most of the letters and get ‘co-addy’. And despite knowing better I still automatically read Qadgop’s title as ‘The Magician’.

I was reading yours, Celyn, as ‘Chellin’ and saoirse as ‘swar-zee’.

I had no idea my judgment was so dreadful! :smack:

It’s “uh BAY-uff”.

Yes, yes. But what does it MEAN??

People have no trouble saying my name, Russell, but it always amuses me that nearly everyone tries to spell it Russel. I have no idea why, since I have never, ever seen the first name Russell spelled with one L.

theToad.

“[Don/Señor] Tipo del Autobús”

“tipo” = “guy” in this region. Don/Señor interchangeable, with “don” having privilege of seniority
In Puerto Rico: “Don Tipo de la Guagua”

Never had trouble with TubaDiva, however,

I’m definitely in the group that reads ‘The Magician’ despite knowing better.

For some reason picunurse has always been = “pick nurse”. Never saw the “u” till I saw your post in this thread.
Friendly wave to kindred souls eleanorigby and Sgt.Pepper

Lucy

That’s the beauty of it. It doesn’t have to mean anything!

No, but you’re close.

FWIW, I did go to high school with both a Jesus and a Moses.

I always read it as “cellin”, FWIW.

Same here. I always read it as Kwad-gop the Merk-oh-tan. Don’t know if I’m right here.

QX, Qadgop!
