Turkey Time MMP(Somebody's gotta do it!)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving - my daughter made most of the food for it! It was very tasty too. We have plenty of leftovers so will have something to eat for the remainder of the week probably into Sunday. We’re going to make turkey soup this year with the carcass. My son didn’t make it here - he was at the girlfriend’s house!! I did talk to him, though, and we wished him happy Thanksgiving.

I am so grateful to be here, in Albuquerque. My health isn’t the best, but it is what it is, and I’m still here, thankfully. Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed a good day today. Have a great Friday too, and if you are venturing out to the Black Friday sales … good luck!

Good morning! I can’t believe I got a solid 8 hours of sleep interrupted only briefly for a trip to the potty! I am rested and functional - what a concept!

It’s freezing outside at the moment, but later when it warms up, I’ll de-crud the windows. The laundry can wait till tomorrow, I think, or I suppose I can do it first thing today. Decisions, decisions… One thing for certain - I’m NOT going shopping today. OR tomorrow. Except on line.

My mom gave me $50 to go towards yarn for afghans. I’ve got tons of yarn but not enough to make nice afghans - OK, the multi-colored ones are nice, but they look lots better when they’re made from scratch with colors intended to go together. And I got a 25% off coupon from JoAnn’s, which will stretch the money that much farther. Once I post this, I’ll pull out the pattern book and decide what I’ll be making, then order accordingly. THAT will be the extent of my Black Friday shopping!

Happy Firday, all! Shoppers, man your carts!! (Who am I kidding - shoppers have been out since midnight…)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a chilly 37 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 76. Another weird Fall day in south Jawja. I am not goin’ in to irk cause, well, it’s closed, but I will irk for a while from home. Also, I am goin’ to check on some of my participants who are irkin’ today. All local though. Not gonna go tour southwest Jawja.

Baker this is because Turkey Day leftovers multiply. The stuff just grows and grows. Of course, I was the one who sent leftovers home so mine shrank (shrinked? shrunk?). I do, however, have what is needed for that all important sammich or three of turkey, dressin’, gravy and cranberry sauce. YUM!!!

Pearl that sucks about your company bailin’. Oh well, more sammiches for you!

Looks like everyone had a good day of Thanks and over eatin’. YAY!!!

To everyone out to hit the “Black Firday” sales, better you than me!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, who knows!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

It is spelled differently in various parts of the diaspora.

:smack:

I have actually accomplished stuff. Go Me! Been out and about for a bit to check up on folks at their trainin’ sites. Now, back at da cave and seriously contemplatin’ stayin’ put. Or not. I’m all willy-nilly like that.

I took my life into my own hands and went out this morning. First stop was Cheap Stuff, where I got 3 kiddy bean bag chairs, wiping out 50% of my Christmas list in one fell swoop. The other stop was Fuds Kitty, where I got laundry stuff.

Fuds Kitty was very quiet, but much to my surprise, so was Cheap Stuff. I’ll bet all the traffic was down the road at Wally*World and Tarzhay :heebee jeebies:

No way would I go near :eek:Wally*World:eek:, Tarzhay, KMartha or The Maul today. The sheer horror!!!

“Fuds Kitty”? Nice name for a grock-ery store

Rosie gets it in one… :goose:

I am going to spell this badly in English but my favorite dinner is halupki, halushki and peroghi. - we used to refer to that, when I was little, as “the other Blessed Trinity”.
Thanksgiving went well. The Grand Concourse with the other non-cooking regulars was terrific and the nudie bar was ------- interesting. Lets just say they didn’t have what I would call headliners working. One may have been real close to my age considering the creaking and snapping of her knees when she tried to move up the pole. Sunday Her Ladyship gets back and I will have to return to normal ------- or at least what passes as normal for me.

I could eat several plates of pirogi. Love it.

Pirogi! As fun to say as it is to eat!

BBBobbio I got it. When we had 'em here I called 'em Food Kitty. Actually, we do have 'em here but when the Food Kitty bought out a local chain called Harvey’s, they kept the Harvey’s name. One can purchase Food Kitty Brand, Harvey’s Brand and National Brand stuff, likes there’s a big difference in any of 'em IMO.

No fraternity boys ate the Turkey, probably because there were no fraternity boys in the house, not a single one. This posed a problem because I don’t have a key to the fraternity house. Luckily for me they didn’t lock the back door. Luckily for them, I’m not a burglar. Well I don’t think so; are you a burglar if you retrieve your own possession which was being held for you?

Herbs Didja watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? J2 & I got some quality face time, Jr would have if they didn’t put the logo over his face.

I’s hongry but there’s no leftovers as we haven’t eaten the ‘home’ turkey yet; that’ll be tonight. Maybe I’ll go out; if’n I’s can keep a straight face, I’ll order some turkey for lunch & say, “ohhh turkey sounds good, haven’t had any of that in a while.” :dubious:
While I didn’t see any rain drops, someone did, & thought they needed a rear wiper blade to stay dry…so they took the one offa my car. Parts on order, about $80.

My Black Firday shopping has commenced…from my 'puter. Gotta new set of pots & pans. With sale, discount coupon, & free shipping what originally cost $229 I’s getting for $65. Maybe I’ll go to the Maul later, just to walk around & watch the craziness.

Evenin’ all.

Hope you can all still waddle after all that food :stuck_out_tongue:
Ok, I’m just jealous 'cos I just scarfed some leftovers for dinner yesterday…

We had truly horrid weather yesterday, proper gale winds and pounding rain; there’s trees down, floodin’ an allsorts, and I got soaked on the way to my pottery class, even though it’s only a few hundred meters away.

Was a nice quiet class though, the woman who’s been coming lately and basically complaining about random things through the whooole class doesn’t come out when it’s wet. She’s nice enough, and she’s clearly having a tough time, it’s just… half the stuff she gets het up about doesn’t even make sense, or she obviously doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. It can be a bit draining, and her not being there really made the rest of us realise how much difference it made. I also finally got my bed-bug ocarina fired.
It’s appallingly tuned, but it is pleasingly silly.

Today, we had a big weird glowing thing in the sky instead of the rain- not sure what it was, maybe a sign of the impending apocalypse, but it made the place look nice.

I have reached an imp-arse in my felting, I’ve run out of white and grey, which are what I use most of. I can’t decide if it’s worth goin’ and getting more, because that means spending money (which is in highly short supply), and I really don’t know if they’re actually going to sell. On the other hand, I don’t have that many things ready for the stall, and I’m sure I’d get more attention if I did have a decent selection.

Windows are DONE!!! What a chore that was! And the last one I did looks a bit streaky, but I’m too tired to care. Maybe tomorrow I’ll go over it before the sun moves to that side of the house. Maybe by tomorrow I won’t care…

I thought I was done when I went into the kitchen to put the paper towels back on the holder, and realized that I needed to do the kitchen window! :smack: And when I went out to wash the outside of that window, I went thru the sliding glass doors of the dining room - which had also slipped my mind. :smack: But they’re all done now, except for the storm windows in the front door. I’m out of steam and out of caring. I’s done.

**FCD **is finishing the mulcher/vac-ing, so I don’t have to deal with it - yay! That means tomorrow, I can dedicate myself to laundry and maybe some studio time. So yay for that, too.

And I’m out of yays. I’m tired and achy and thinking it might be a good time to knit. I’m thinking supper will be leftover brisket soup, because it was mega-yum!

Oh yeah - now accepting back rubs!!!

I just had me a turkey sammich and a slice of Mennonite Ladies caramel cake. Life is good.

And I just had leftover layered lettuce salad! And gooseberry pie.

Irk, blurf, caffeine.

Not much in the way of leftovers today, as neither I nor my friend who cooked are much for overeating. We ended up having a nice tri-tip, sauteed mushrooms, baked squash and roasted cabbage balls (aka brussel sprouts).

Also managed to not go shopping today, although I shall be stopping off at the grocery place on the way home to pick up supplies: bread, V8, cherry tomatoes, bananananas.

Layered sallit. YUM!!! I loves me that stuff!

[del]Fart Blossoms[/del] Brussels Sprouts, however, are meant to be a punishment not to be eaten just because unless one is a masochist.
