MissOwl, I am shocked… SHOCKED I say!! You hussy!!!
Supper was good, dishes are done, and we forgot to take my car to the shop. Not be huge deal - I’ll call in the morning and see if they can take it. I also plan to call the county health office about getting COVID tests for us. But that’s tomorrow.
Once again, it is not MENSA day at the zoo. Everybody with an ounce of common sense has stayed away from crowded public places this weekend. The folks that have chosen to come here are the types that don’t have the cranial capacity to follow simple directions like “Entire party must be present” or “do not enter” or even “check in at window 3.” And there have been lots of large extended family groups who are obviously not from the same household, which is exactly the opposite of what we’re supposed to be doing right now. Sigh
Go OW! Go OW! I admit I do not know what it’s like to lose a spouse. But I do believe that if I ever lost Mrs W, I would not want to be married again or even in a serious relationship. I would still have needs, though. An FWB arrangement sounds ideal to me!
Howdy Y’all! A dreary, rainy night in Jawja. I decided to wait until the mornin’ to haul the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down the road for pickup tomorrow. Of course, this means I have to remember to do that when I get up in the mornin’. The rain will go away overnight so I think that is a wise decision. That is the big excitatement here at da cave.
Miss_Owl good for you, I say! If it’s a FWB thing, then good. I am sure ruble would approve. If it evolves into sump’n more, then good. I am again sure that ruble would approve. I say this because I am absolutely sure he wants you to be happy.
MetalMouse glad you made it back all safe and sound. I much prefer to order from the restaurant itself rather than rely on a third party like Grub Hub. I’m sure they are a fine organization, but I’m all for cuttin’ out the middle whenever possible.
Glad you had a good trip home metal mouse. I’ve found that if you’re willing to pick your order up, usually the restaurant’s website is much easier to order from than any of the delivery services. That, and you can save up to half if you’re ordering for one. (Truth. When I had the flu, I was going to order soup from the Chinese down the street. For one quart of house special soup, the menu price was ~$7. The total to have it delivered through Grub Hub was ~$13. However, if I ordered four quarts, I could get it all delivered for $34 ($28 for the soup, $6 for delivery. So that’s what I ordered)
I had Thanksgiving leftovers for supper. I found out that the miso-ginger sweet potatoes are even better reheated. When I do KP tonight, I’ll box most of it up for the freezer, leaving out one more meal. That means that there will be some freezer tetris, I’ll get three main dish portions of something else out for the rest of the week, so I’ll have more room though.
At the end of supper, Nelson began to raise hell at the door. While trying to quiet him, I heard a knock. I turned on the porch light (it’s getting dark ~5 PM these days) and looked out the peep hole. No one was there. I did open the door and lo and behold, there was a carton from da Jungle partially blocking the screen door (I wish those guys would think of that when they leave stuff, but then again, it was raining and that put the package under the overhang). It was the #10 envelopes that I ordered the other day. Only, I ordered 100; the carton had 1000. I checked my order and, yes, I did order 100. While they are business size, they are stationary quality with no safety blue on the inside. Unless the recent trend of slimline cards hangs around for a while, I now have a lifetime supply. Now to find a place to store them. At least the order for 100 cost less than 25 would at the craft store.
Ok, posts from my tablet get weird. “Not be huge deal”??? And the smilies were supposed to be snories, not cry-ies!
Stoopit Android auto-correct!!!
Finally got around to stripping and remaking the bed, and I put the electric blanket on it. No more cold toes, I hope! So I need to turn off this machine and mosey back to the chamber of sleepage.
Whoops, forgot the litter box. Scooped that & jogged the baggie out to the big bin real quick. Then chillage could commence.
I forgot that I irk tomorrow (I almost never irk Mondays!) so I guess I can put off laundry yet one more day! But I do need to stop at The Gettin’ Sto’ real quick on the way in, since tomorrow is the last day for that canned food drive, and I wanna take advantage of the discount to get a few extra goodies. They have a medicated chocolate bar that I swear solves all of life’s problems.
Since y’all had such a positive response, I’ll get another five boxes of the name brand flavored oatmeal packets. Put warm nourishment into a few more bellies, and of course, the fun of letting them pick their flavor. (Or fight over 'em.)
Had a slice of strawberry cheesecake stashed in the fridge, so I’m enjoying that right now with a hot cuppa. Struggling to stay up till 9 p.m. like the rock star I am.
I’m pretty well packed for tomorrow. I’m taking a sandwich, etc. for dinner–saves me $$ and calories. I called the hotel, and they said, “Sure, come on over when you get in,” but the clerk was so lackadaisical, I don’t think she caught my name.
OW, that’s purely wonderful news. To find someone you like and trust for your first, uh, voyage in a while is smart. And you had fun with someone who thinks you’re wonderful, which is pretty terrific in itself.
Should I even be responding here? It’s still Sunday where I am, but most of you have gone to bed, so maybe nobody will read this, though it’s not exactly earth-shattering news.
Awww. Thank you for merely “lifting” rather than “hurling.”
Serious question: do you see many “Fragile! Live animals!” packages, or are those handled separately by another team?
Mumpers may not know this, but breeders ship a significant amount of day old hatchling chicks, snakes of various sizes, dart frogs, etc. by same-day or overnight post. I’ve always wondered how many live animals are in the mail (well, U.P.S.) on any given day.
