Twin Cities Dopers - Prehistoric Creatures Day is Upon Us!

Inspired by this post

Anyone else ready to celebrate?

404 error

Sorry but I don’t get the connection. An internet joke people.

I’m getting a broken link.

Okay then, it’s Friday the 13th. Inspired by yams! post on page 2 of this thread.

Here’s another attempt to link directly to the post.

Wile E, thanks. I tried it when I previewed, and it worked then, or at least I thought it did.

So, back to my original question - who’s ready to celebrate?

As my username suggests, I am a baker, professionally. And I have two cookies cutters shaped like dinosaurs. Maybe, on PCD, I should make sure I have some to sell!

That’s one of my favourite posts ever. Not only was the story charming, well told (I could see the plastic critters in my mind), that’s the only person who I don’t mind signing their posts. I mean, it’s just so cheerful: love (space) yams!!

I haven’t adopted a Prehistoric Creature; I better get on it if I’m to have a nice dinner out with it.

We, unfortunately have a very full weekend already.

Baker, that’s a great plan! Put up a sign “Are you ready for Prehistoric Creatures Day?” and sell cookies!

Savannah, start shopping now! Only 10 more shopping days until you and your prehistoric friend have a date!

Dangerosa, I’m sad, the more so since you couldn’t come to the last Doper lunch. Should I point out that Friday isn’t the weekend? No? Ok then.

Where are the rest of the Twin Cities Dopers? Are they hiding, cowering in terror, forgetting that Prehistoric Creatures Are Our Friends?

I hope not! Let’s have a party!

I must find a dinosaur, so I can take it out to dinner.

Heh. I thought this was a thread about the Republican Convention.

We’re having friends over on the 13th, so I’ll let them know to bring over their dinosaurs and we’ll make them something nice for dinner.

Or maybe we’ll let them chase the cat around for a while.

My SO reminded me last weekend that we will be having a PCD soon. We still need to unpack the household critters, and determine if they prefer veggies, steak or seafood.

Alas, on the 13th I’ll be wrangling drunk idjits at Winstock.

Whoo.
Hoo.

Joy! We’ll miss you.

Heh. I was supposed to work Winstock last year. Sounds like I didn’t miss much…

I could probably be convinced to come. I’ll keep peeking in this thread.

Thanks to my bro-in-law being disabled (there are way too many comments I could make, but won’t), we have sites pretty close to the gates. We have motor homes, so real kitchens, bathrooms, and beds make life easier. We used to do tents, but after the year - 7 years ago? - with torrential downpours and leaky tents, we decided to upgrade. IMO, though, that was the BEST year.

For the most part we hang around our campsite, play cards, be sociable (HA!) and consider it vacation. We get up there Thursday for gate opening, hang around in Winsted Friday (Blue Note Breakfast, yo!) afternoon. Great garage sales then, also. I know we’re going in for Reba, Lady Antebellum, and Montgomery Gentry, but since we can hear it all from our site, why try to maneuver around the drunks inside? We have the cheap seats (which keep getting worse every dang year), so the “fun” of getting up along the fence is gone.

I believe out sites are like 557/558 or so. We’re going all out in decorating, so please feel free to stop by and have a drink and a nosh (I’m the baker of the group)!

Note: it IS fun, if you like country music. I really don’t care for it. But my sis buys my ticket, so there I am.

Well, we won’t be dining with prehistoric creatures, but we will be walking with the dinosaurs at the 5pm Sunday show.

Anyone else attending?

Hey, fisha, if you do go to Winstock, we’re either 561/562 or 557/558. Not sure. Our campsite WILL have a mannequin dressed up and a huge BDay card for the Winstock organizers.

Ah, country music. The appeal eludes me.

You pretty much have to drive past my house to get there if you’re coming from the Twin Cities, you’re more than welcome to stop by.

If I get roped into volunteering, I’ll stop in, say hello.

I’ve adopted my dinos!
