I remember when this was a petition on petitiononline.com, and thought for sure it was just a joke at that time. But it seems to have lasted a lot longer than a joke of this type ought to have.
That’s the way I feel about those websites who proclaim that the moon landings were faked.

No-one is that stupid. I won’t believe it. I - even if I am alone - have that much faith left in humanity. NOBODY can POSSIBLY be THAT stupid.

My best guess is it is a ploy to attract e-mails for spam purposes. I still couldn’t resist e-mailing about the patently false statment that TT was named to capitalise on 9/11.
(thats why the decision to name the movies the same in the books was made april 2000* at the latest. Obvioulsly NL and PJ knew about the attacks more than a year in advance)
