U.S. Mail: "Thank you Jesus" ??

Today I found myself behind a big, white truck on the freeway in Houston. On the back of the truck, in black block lettering, was emblazoned “U.S. Mail.” Under that was the phrase: “Thank you Jesus.” There were no other markings or insignia on the truck. What the heck is this?

I imagine it’s a private trucker who’s contracted w/ USPS to carry mail between major routing points. So I think he’s req’d. to have “US MAIL” on the truck, but can also probably have whatever else he wants on it.

Definitely a private contractor, if anything at all connected to the mail. Trucks owned by the government all have the distinct USPS color schemes.

I see religious messages on many truck trailers (there’s a disproportionately large amount of trucking companies that are based in the Bible Belt), so I’ll vote “private contractor” too.

Maybe it is not religious, but a private thing, like thanking a friend with the Spanish name pronounced something like hey soos. :dubious:
