I’m getting at least two mailings a week from Concerned Parties, warning that Amy McGrath is not only Too Radical For Kentucky, she wants to have legal abortion not only up to the moment of birth, but until the age of 5 as well. Or at least it seems that way.
I’m good with it. And it seems quite a few voters are too. McConnell had a double-digit lead a few weeks ago but it’s shrunk to about 7 percentage points. He’ll probably still win, but there must be some unease over there at Hanging Jowl Central.
Here in Arizona, PACs on behalf of McSally have been hammering Kelly wants to take your guns away!!1!
Since a loony gunman shot his wife in the head, to say nothing of wounding nineteen others, killing six of them – including a nine-year old girl – I’ll give him a pass on that one.
Collins is in a lot more trouble than Graham. She’s the underdog, per Nate, but she still has around a 40% chance to win.
It’s remarkable that this race is close at all. Collins beat Shenna Bellows by 37 points in 2014, and at a glance Bellows doesn’t seem all that different from Sara Gideon, the current D challenger.
I haven’t caught one of those yet, but I constantly see:
He has ties to China and they are contributing to his campaign.
His company made him millions of dollars by outrageous billing of very sick people.
He is a liberal who is going to raise our taxes, ruin our retirement plans, and turn the country over to hyper liberals determined to make our once great country a commie haven.
The article for anyone interested. The texts are from his affair partner to a friend of hers, where she says, " I just want to [expletive] him one last time and break his heart,” and "“Trying to make plans to see the politician so I can give him the [expletive] of his life and then walk away.”
I’m now thinking this really may do Cunningham in. Just the drip, drip, drip of more texts and information coming out while he’s apparently decided his best strategy is to hide in a bunker somewhere. His best hope now seems to be a complete Trump implosion that dominates the headlines and depresses Republican turnout enough that he can ride Biden’s coattails.
I think it’s possible that Trump has made us France, in which no one cares about consenting adult relationships by politicians any more in terms of affecting their vote. But we’ll see.
I don’t think that an affair is unrecoverable politically, what’s most concerning is that Cunningham’s strategy seems to be to bury his head in the fucking sand.
He may be thinking of LBJ’s “I just want to hear him deny it” meme. If he doesn’t respond at all, the media has nowhere to go, and eventually it goes away. YMMV, of course.
Yeah, it’s NC and there are a lot of Evangelicals and more conservative types in that state. But, the GOP did nominate and the Evangelical types did mostly vote for a serial philandering, porn star fucking, amoral asshole in 2016. I don’t see this being a bad strategy on the part of Cunningham. Particularly given the shit show our COVID infected President is putting on.
Cal should shut up and keep his head down and this could very easily blow over.
McSalley just BLATANTLY DODGED the question when she was asked if she was “proud of President Trump.” She was straight up asked, very simply, if she would describe herself as being proud of supporting Donald Trump. She unleashed several minutes worth of total non-answers. The moderator pushed on: “Is that a yes or a no for President Trump?” She continued to not answer the question, unbelievably, pushing forward with more non-answers.
I guess it’s a good sign that she’s so reluctant to endorse Trump.
Furthermore in the debate, she utterly dodged the question of whether “she would have liked to serve under someone like Donald Trump in the military.” Moderator asks again: “would you have liked to have served under someone like Donald Trump when you served in the military?” She continues throwing out egregious non-answers, just complete word salad.
